Is the USA going to collapse? Nobody can say. There are a few things that could cause a collapse, but who knows if any of them will?
What we can be sure of, though, is that if a crisis comes it won’t affect the whole country equally.
If one of the doomsday scenarios preppers fear happens, even if it’s a national event the effects will hit some places sooner, and harder, than others.
Some states will collapse almost immediately, and things there could get very bad, very quickly. Other states will hold up better, and even if they do completely collapse the process will be slower, giving people time to prepare, adapt and survive.
If you want to maximize your chances of making it through a crisis you need to know what states to avoid. Here are the top five:
California
This one probably won’t surprise anyone. California is famously vulnerable to natural disasters – earthquakes and wildfires are common, and huge parts of the state are vulnerable to tsunamis as well – but that’s only half the problem. California has some other massive vulnerabilities, too.
For a start, it’s densely populated. Compared to the likes of New Jersey or Rhode Island it isn’t that densely populated – it ranks 17th in the nation – but a combination of relatively high density and very high population makes it very vulnerable.
California’s big cities are incredibly reliant on supplies from outside. San Diego and Los Angeles bring in up to 90% of their water from Northern California.
If the infrastructure that carries that water breaks down (and it isn’t in any better shape than the rest of our infrastructure) the cities will collapse into chaos within days; but fortunately, there is an easy way to make water out of thin air.
San Francisco is a lot smaller and has a cooler, wetter climate, but it isn’t in the clear either. Over 85% of the Bay Area’s water comes from the Hetch Hetchy Valley in the Yosemite National Park, 150 miles to the east, and if that stops flowing San Francisco will be just as screwed as the big cities.
California isn’t helped by the fact it’s such an obvious target for attackers.
Silicon Valley and the San Francisco area is the center of the global tech industry; an EMP attack on California is a quick and easy way to devastate the US economy – but it would also cause a rapid and massive collapse as the bankrupt state’s crumbling infrastructure simply broke under the impact.
Florida
Florida’s politics might be different to California’s, but unfortunately, its vulnerability to collapse is similar.
It also suffers a lot of natural disasters – hurricanes, this time – and it’s also densely populated. In fact, Florida’s people are packed in a lot more densely than California’s, although that’s balanced by the fact there aren’t as many of them.
Like California, Florida is highly urbanized – about 92% of Floridians live in an urban area. That makes them very dependent on outside supplies that probably won’t come in a crisis, and as the old saying goes, civilization is never more than three missed meals from anarchy.
And if you think that you will just keep your stockpile in your basement, think again, because it is the worst idea. Here is why you should NEVER hide your food supplies in your basement.
Alaska
You’re probably wondering what Alaska is doing on the list. After all, it’s about as unlike highly urbanized California as you can get.
Alaskans are self-sufficient, many of them hunt and they don’t rely on vulnerable infrastructure for such basic necessities as water.
Related: What Cowboys Built And Did Around The House To Be Self-Sufficient
Unfortunately, Alaska does rely on imports of some other necessities, with gasoline and heating oil being the most important. It also buys in most of its processed food and almost all its manufactured goods.
And, while Alaskans can easily supplement their diet by hunting and fishing, farming is another story.
A harsh climate and short growing season mean the state is nowhere near self-sufficient in grains, fruit and vegetables, and true self-sufficiency is pretty hard to achieve.
Alaska might not be torn apart by urban riots in the first days of a crisis, but it will still collapse within weeks as food stocks run down and gas disappears.
Hawaii
All the things that count against Alaska also count against Hawaii, and there are a couple of other issues, too.
While Hawaii has more agriculture than Alaska, the biggest crops are sugarcane and pineapples – not exactly staple foods. The climate means it’s a bit more feasible to grow your own food there. This guide can teach you how to make a year-round self-sustaining garden no matter where you live in America.
Hawaii is also heavily urbanized, with almost 92% of the population living in cities. Like California or Florida, as soon as supplies from out of state stop arriving those cities will collapse fast and hard.
There’s another serious problem with Hawaii, too – it’s an island chain in the middle of the Pacific. At least if you’re in Alaska when the collapse comes you can get to Canada. If you’re in Hawaii, plan on being there for a long, long time.
New York
If the power goes off and supplies of food and water stop coming, the Big Apple will rot in a hurry.
The state of New York contains the USA’s most populous city, over eight million people with basically no ability to be self-sufficient.
While New York does have some agriculture, including a lot of basic foods – the state is the largest cabbage producer in the country, for example – in a crisis not much of that food is going to make it into the city, so you can expect hungry mobs to fan out into the rural parts of the state looking for food.
Along with the city’s already high crime levels, the collapse of New York is going to be fast and brutal.
The Alternatives
If you live in one of these collapse-prone states, the best advice is to be ready to bug out as fast and as far as you can.
The ideal solution is to move to a more rural state where any collapse will be slower and less violent, giving you time to adjust to the new normal.
The Great Plains states are a good choice – large, sparsely populated and heavily agricultural.
It’s easy to be self-sufficient there, and you’re a long way from the chaos that will erupt when America’s helpless cities start to starve.

Having a workable garden to grow your own produce is very capable and many do it. Growing season is short but green houses are perfect for starting plants and even in spaces of your own home. Then when warmer temps arrive transfer them to outside for normal growing and harvesting. Just like any other cold environment. Chickens, and bees can and do thrive up there as well. Plenty of fish in the river and one moose can last you many months. In the winter you have all the water you need in the form of snow and plenty of wood to burn for heat. It’s not as destitute as what a lot of people think. Now if you live up close to Arctic circle then you better know how to live off whale and seal. That can be a bit tricky since most of their goods are either trucked in or brought by boat. Yet, the native born tribes survived for thousands of years without modern amenities. Alaska would be my go to place but it is so far away and would take about a month of bugging out to get there. I really would love to have property up there one day.
I’m talking about Alaska
Having lived most of my life in Alaska……. You can grow many types of vegetables and fruit there. Find out what your micro-climate is and stock seeds for that. Corn can be grown in Fairbanks but not so much in Anchorage. Raised beds are also a good thing as the soil warms faster. Long days help with the growth of crops. Some forms of apples will also survive in the southern areas. If you are in the bush you should build a cache (little cabin on stilts) for storage.Smoking meat and fish are good things to know how to do. But the biggest problem is the timeline. Cutting wood for the winter starting no later than August. As for property …..expensive and not a lot available due to the Native Land Claims act. As for the TV shows….. most of the folks are on long held homestead land. Thinking about going back myself.
I live here and I agree

A lot less sap in the trees
Get out of the cities now! the time of the cities are over! They are death-traps get out of them!
William, don’t say that too loud LOL). Those of us who live in rural areas would love to keep them rural. We live in Central Utah where the winters can be very harsh at times. We do have a greenhouse and are able to grow some food, but probably not enough to be self sufficient. Hunting and fishing is good, but don’t know how long that will last when the city folk come up here to partake in our wildlife. I don’t think we will be horribly affected here and our plan is just to hunker down and hopefully ride it out.
Alaska is full of Liberals just like Kalifornia.
Staying is good if already live there and know what you know but in time the outsiders will come but you will still have the upper hand .don’t get comfortable. Have to stay alert from that time on.
You’re talking the Anchorage area but still the majority is conservative.
Also south central has its own refinery so we don’t have to import fuel. Yet anyway
YOU ARE RIGHT INSANITY AND STUPIDITY DO NOT STOP AT STATE BORDERS!
Have you tied to buy garden plants this year, almost nonexistent here in KY. I believe we are being deliberately setup for mass starvation! Save any seeds you have because I think we’re going to need them.
Another reason I stock guns and ammo:
+ food, gas, etc
“Prepper” for yrs now.
That nice 30yo lady next door with 2 young kids in school (will turn into a raging monster) and kill you for whatever food or supplies you have.
I (State & DHS) Certified Trainer – offered to train her & hubby in “Real” Self Defense with a gun but she – for. a year now. has declined – I “Now” see that as a good thing – for ME.
School Teachers – normally highly intelligent can be “Really Ignorant”.
Tennessee – “We, here, should be better off” 2mi away are farms with cattle, hogs, chickens, etc.
I agree. A country boy can/will survive!
Northwest Tennessee
Cousin lives in Pigeon Forge plan on moving there soon , I live out side Corning NY so it will be close to the same for me .Hills of NYS or Hills of Tenn
Yes I live in Tennessee in a rural area West in Nashville on 230 acres. Many people out here Will fare well. I have a few cattle and land to grow crops on but I’m too busy with my business to grow crops. That will change though. I have no bills and own everything. I have quite a few stockpiles but could use more. A real possibility things could go really really bad. Unfortunately a lot of these young people are voting with the left. Lot of them like nice things which in itself is not necessarily bad. But things go bad and their cute little three-story houses and nice cars are going bye bye.
Why would their houses and cars go “bye bye”?
I live northeast Washington State just 29 miles from Canada and off of Lake Roosevelt we have a garden have chickens / then we have extra $$$$ I order food / my sons reload all are ammo you can still get that ! Oh yes are house is heated by “WOOD” !
But not ypur farm or animals?? 🙁
I’m in E Tennessee I’m sure y’all know of Oak Ridge.
Stu, Where I live in NH the winter temperature is for the most part a bit cooler than Alaska. The difference is Alaska gets more snow and the growing season is a bit shorter. Other than that, it sounds like a great place to be should it all go south.
Can you revise this a bit? States like NY and PA are hard to generalize based on NYC or Pittsburgh or Philadelphia. 90% of NY is not the NYC wasteland or the drag of Long Island. PA is the same and I am sure many other states like Texas and Georgia can be red when you look at them thrugh the same lense you looked at NYC with.
I agree this was fairly general in how they chose just the large cities. I live in California but Northern California is like another state. Since I’m in the Sierra Nevada mountains game. water, fish are not a problem. Growing season is not that short as I grow stuff from late April to early October
Don’t be fooled. Northern Kalifornia is no different that the rest of the state. same people same mindset! I lived in Mill Valley and Sacramento.
I live outside of Pittsburgh. Most of the population lives outside the city. Outside of Pittsburgh Its fairly rural. The problem will be when the city peeps decide to leave the city and go to the rural areas to get what they need. Buy whatever means necessary. I’m actually looking at moving further out in the mountains. While that may be a better choice to survive. Those desperate and hungry may hear there too. The difference is there may not be as many neighbors around to help you. Best to grow your survival community now and not wait. They will come if your ready or not. and they won’t be civil.
sorry Benjamin but Sacramento and mill valley are not northern California. Look at Placer or El Dorado county. CCW are easy to get. RED is the color of voters
We live very rural in Northern NY! I too would like to see a breakdown of areas outside of NYC. I feel comfortable that we would be OK/safe here!@
Yes, I agree about New York State! We live in the “fruit basket of the East”. Our county produces more apples than anywhere in the U.S., except for one, single county in Washington State! We have farms and even organic farms all around here with easy access to food. No one on our road has less than 5 acres for their lawn, so no, not a “bush” scenario, but plenty of room to grow food! The growing season is quite decent out here, and we are about 7 miles to the nearest town with lots of sparsely populated places not that far away. Plenty of Amish live within short distance, too, so we could learn a lot of “non electric” tips from them, as we are good friends with several families. Plenty of wood to burn, plenty of water to use, as well. Doesn’t sound ANYTHING like your New York City description and we are 6 hours away from NYC, to boot! It would be pretty hard for someone to travel up this far north if all they had were a horse and cart!!
Best,
Lance: We live in Central New York, the “fruit basket of the East”. There is lots of open land to own or purchased for growing your own food and a pretty reasonably good supply of game around here’s well as PLENTY OF WATER! We generally have a several months growing season, too. I really WONDER if our area will be the first to fall/be destroyed in a crisis. Maybe, but NYC is 6+ hrs. away by car, and there is plenty of easier areas to access for food, if you’re in a crisis. My only regret is that we don’t have a solar system to work with for power, but my engineer hubby INSISTS that solar is not worth much at all in our area, due to cloudiness all winter and too many trees shading our house, even though they are a bit far away. He is probably correct, but what a bummer!
We have access to organic farms, organic orchards, and lots of friends who sell us lots of fruit and “Clean Meat”, too, so what we cannot buy easily, we can either buy from the farmers or trade them Essential Oils (Natural Medicines) for their products. We also have easy access to AzureStandard.com deliveries, for which we will forever be very grateful! AzureStandard has saved the day for us so many times, while we were trying to prep. We love Azure! If you don’t know of anywhere near you where they make their “drop” of food, call and ask them where the nearest drop-off takes place, OR START ONE OF YOUR OWN! You will love it and find it such a huge blessing to you and your family!!
I’m in PA and nowhere near Philly or Pittsburgh. Very red around here. Some remaining idiots, but not many.
I, for one, live in the Fingerlakes region of Central New York. We are 6 hrs. away from NYC and consider that crew to essentially be “another state” over here, or at least we pray constantly that they will be one day!! Their legislators LOVE to steal the tax money from our area to give away in NYC, so we do not like those folks too much.
Otherwise, in our area, we have a VERY large area of vineyards, orchards and organic and non-organic farms, plus dairy farms. I doubt we would go down as fast as you claim, but maybe faster than places like Alaska. Temps are good for growing many things, including veggies, fruits and berries. We, personally, probably harvest 45-60 quarts of various types of berries each summer! So many, we eat them fresh, can some and freezer is 85% full of berries every summer. Plus we let a few friends come pick, too!
If we go down, it may be medium fast, but it won’t be crazy-fast, not unless someone blows up the nuclear plant up on the shores of Lake Ontario….in that case, all bets are off!
An EMP high altitude blast will be almost instant in destruction of our power grids nation wide, if it is placed right. So I would contend that any and all 200K + populated cities will find themselves in deep trouble as they battle each other to stay alive. That will start the day of or day after the EMP blast takes place and will continue on unabated until many millions of them die off from murder and starvation. That will take place within weeks of the blast. This is not even taking into consideration Solar Flares that scientist are now saying are due at any moment and that will take the same identical route of devastation on the population as the EMP if it is a big event as they predict. So, if you can stay alive for a couple of weeks and for sure for a month you will have a lot of fellow citizens out of your way and possibly, just possibly allow you to carry on in some mode of self reliability.
Joyce, all that you said is awesome. You sound very prepared. Please remember though those hungry city folk will come in herds and gang like mobs to take what you have.
Joyce – Revenue from upstate New York pales in comparison to what is generated and created in and by the City of New York. I have plenty of upstate relatives who are as sanctimonious as you and it is good they were able to get their money down here before they retired to the Great Lakes Region. Upstate cities of Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, Elmira, Utica all rust belt shanty towns or towns living on past glories as resort areas for NYC Residents, like Canadaigua and the rest of Finger Lakes Area. Little opportunity exists up there that’s why so many people are leaving for the Southern States and why Governor Cuomo is importing more foreign folks to fill in and work on the farms up there so at least there would be some sort of income for the regular folks to live on.
Yep about New York because remember that it is also Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and Binghamton. Non-producing city people are not far from anyplace. Agriculture is no longer small operators and is owned and controlled mostly by the large operators financed by the government and the banks. These high-rolling operations own the best land and seem to have unlimited resources to acquire more and are beginning to pick up the secondary type land. The marginal land that once was small farms are owned by city people that use them for hunting camps. Most of it have grown back to brush and forest and the owners don’t live there. The state government has declared war on the people with regulations and taxes making illegal things like wood stoves and gas furnaces, and if anyone desires to start some small enterprise, they can be sure that every step will be dogged by the regulators. Attempts to be self sufficient, even like having one’s own gas well, is made very difficult. It’s not impossible, and someday an educated citizenry may actually take the state back, but living in New York is hard.
City Chick: I think you should research a bit more of what those “rust belt” shanty towns are like nowadays. You are not only the sanctimonious one commenting here, but you have NO IDEA what those cities and towns are like anymore. Canandaigua is a heavenly resort town, and Syracuse has some of the VERY BEST natural medicine clinics and practitioners anywhere. Buffalo may be what you say, although we do pass through there on occasion and find there are nice offerings along the way. AND ROCHESTER!! Are you kidding me? Rochester has some of the top medical centers in the WORLD! Rochester General Hospital has one of the top cardiologists in the world, too. He happened to save my husband’s life at age 53, thank God!
I think you should look again. Central New York has SO MUCH to offer, let alone the hoards ofvineyards, the sailing regattas all over the Fingerlakes, the art festivals, the organic farms and orchards galore, and lots of museums to George Eastman, Frederick Douglas, Seward Mansion Museum, and the historical homes and sites of the Underground Railroad to commend it, let alone all the beaches and swimming/fishing areas all around ! I think you honestly are either outdated with your ideas of Central New York or are the critical one commenting, as you obviously don’t know squat about this area!
And by the way, we go down to Canandaigua ALL OF THE TIME, LIKE 3 TIMES/WEEK, and we have never run into any vacationers from NYC to date. Must be we don’t travel the same roads as city people!
When NYC people are hungry – the problem becomes the fact that the NYC people are going to flood the outlying areas like your farm…
Let em come because they will all be killed. Upstate NY is filled with guns and neighbors who look out for each other. You couldn’t set foot on half these farms without being immediately shot.
WJP: It won’t be hordes of people, but hordes of military. You know the dems. More than likely they’ll bring in UN troops. East Germany, at the end of WWII, Russia tried to force collectivization on the farms. They confiscated everything. Germans walked away to the cities and demanded jobs. Crops rotted in the fields and the nation went hungry. Ethiopia had tons of food stored against bad years. The nazi fascists came in and took, then stole their children to sell leaving the people to starve. I’m not putting you down. You have the right attitude, but posting it like that puts a target on your back.
What farm are you talking about? We don’t own a farm!
And when the feces hit the fan all those nice NYC people will be relieving you fine people of that which you need to sustain yourselves. First on the list of food storage is Guns and Ammunition. Sure you can’t eat it but it will keep the two legged animals from (eating you). and yours. When the bad goes down it will not be pretty. People won’t ask for some food they will most likely take it. I have seen this many times, in many countries. Prepare now especially for water and the means to purify it. Learn how to safely care for your family and their needs. God Bless.
The trucking industry is on heals when it goes down we’re all in trouble remember the 80s drivers parked there trucks it going to happen soon Walmart will fall and others will fall
If you bought it ! A trucker brought it! People, if the truckers shut down it will be as equal as a power grid failure.
I agree somewhat with Florida on the list, somewhat.
Northern Florida and the urban sewers of Central and South Florida are light years different. People living in the predominantly rural and farming communities of North Florida will do just fine when the SHTF.
Those Hungry people are not going to curl up in balls on their couches and wait to starve to death. They will come in herds and take what’s yours.
You may be surprised that fully half of them will actually curl up on a sofa and wait to be taken care of. The other half will pillage and kill to get what they want.
Brownsville is at the Southern tip of Texas on the Mexican border. Law and order will collapse there as soon as SHTF and if you don’t have family ties on both sides of the Rio Grande you don’t want to be there. Since Brownsville (site of the last battle of the Civil War, a Texas victory) js so humid I think the post meant Brownwood. It would be okay, it’s semi arid and you’d have to irrigate a garden. Kinda close to Goodfellow and Dyess AFBs, prime nuclear 1st strike targets. A NE wind (not common) would put you in the radiation footprint of a meltdown of the nuke plant in Glen Rose.
Somebody mentioned the Texas Panhandle, no, the Comanche and Southern Cheyenne survived there but you won’t.
Don’t underestimate the distance starving refugees can travel. Draw a 150 mile radius around cities small and large, if you are inside that circle expect lots of company.
The original Prepper idea was hunker down with an arsenal in a camouflaged cabin in the woods, now more and more people are realizing it is communities that will survive and renew life
Charles E Diaz – Only problem is that most folks in south Florida really have know where else to go except north in emergency situations.
After much research I have concluded that the Brownsville, Texas area is the best for surviving a shtf scenario. Great climate year round and water is plentiful most of the year. No concern of heating your home and with low humidity comfortable in the summer.
Brownsville. ?
I don’t find Brownsville in Texas. Maybe you mean Brownwood, TX?
I heard TX will be flooded by sea from the gulf
Brownsville is down on the border. Right next to Mexico.
If you see the current security concerns, people will be coming into the US looking for food too. EMP attacks probably will impact Mexico and Canada as well…our North American trading partners
We need a good EMP because Democrats and destroyed America a good EMP will get rid of somebody’s immigrants don’t belong here and these people that don’t realize what their food comes from I live in Louisiana I have fish ponds rivers I have farmland I have a nice bunker to supply nut supplies to feed three families for 3 years I’ve been working on this for 25 years good luck to people out there and hope God bless everybody don’t give up thank you
David, fully close to Austin
Judge Holden – I totally agree with you about Brownsville, Texas and I’d add Texas as well as the rest of the states on the Southern Border to the list. Would be I’m sure a most valiant fight, but look at the hordes already breaching the borders and this administration only helps them entrench all around these United States. As bad as it is here in the big city, I would not feel at ease these days anywhere in the State of Texas. My heart goes out to those of you there on the front line.
Brownsville? Aside from hurricanes, do you know what the area is famous for? Not too many years ago, a man came up over the river and kidnapped 2 Texans, then sacrificed them. Drug lords do the same. Then there’s the fishing cows. 1900 or so, they made films of longhorn cows standing in the surf and grabbing fish to eat. They didn’t want fish, per say, but phosphorus. A lot of people died before researchers figured out what was needed. If in an area deficient in minerals, stalk up on them. You can find soil analysis at the county seat, or other places online. niio
and probably only a couple of people coming over the border
Sorry I don’t agree about Florida ….We were the only state that prospered during the Plague …So No I do not think so
You were not the only state. We did fine.
One of the Worst places to be will be the great plains. Because that is where a lot of the
East of the Mississippi refugees, will flee to.
Between Tornadoes, Drought and Wildfires (because of the drought), there would not be much left. Since it is already agricultural, game will be limited and people will start fighting over sources of Meat.
Then you have the threat from various groups that have settled nearby, that have a idea that they should rule the world and force everyone to submit to their way of life.
I would much prefer the Mountains or the Deserts. Either one would be far safer in the long run.
Mountains maybe. Deserts, no.
One should go where they can live off the land and tolerate the climate. I intend to bug out to West Texas Panhandle Plains or northeast to to the Ozarks
Mic – With that famous river system in place, you gotta add floods to the list of calamities.
the author must not have studied any history of an actual economic depression >>> during the 1930s Great Depression the major cities flooded with rural refugees fleeing the ag collapse – only paying jobs and social relief available was in the cities …
Regardless of our opinions on the final outcome, short term and long term, one thing is factual. Within weeks of the event, there will be many less individuals, thugs, criminals, and good people, etc. on the streets of large cities or in the woods with us in our escape. That may still be enough to cause us a real threat in the wild but it will for sure be millions less than it otherwise would be. That is when your abilities and willingness to shoot an intruder will be tested in real time rather than gaining wisdom from a printed page on how it is to be done.
My grandparents stayed in Cedar Rapids Iowa…but their families remained on farms in SD and Iowa. Everyone was ok. Large cities were NOT the only employers. I think you forget TVA, CCC, and REC programs that targeted public works infrastructure on public lands and rural areas. Alot of FDR’s recovery was directed toward smaller cities/protecting supply chains. FDR was also moving toward direct military support of England and France by 1939. That ramp up in defense production was preparing the US for the coming war and improved the economy rapidly
Pamala: Mine stayed on farms, as well. Because few had the money to buy, prices bottomed out. Farm sales were common and suicides followed. FDR was selling the UK and France weapons, not helping them. He wrote to Hitler to leave us out of it, then sent Hitler a nice present, a boatload of Jewish kids begging for asylum. His friends were still selling scrap iron to Japan and that stopped only because repubs and some dems stopped it. FDR favored Nazism as the real goal, a communist government based on elitism, not equality. Stalin, Hitler’s friend, adopted it and marxism died. FDR did nothing that did not make him and his friends a profit.
History always repeats itself Illini Warrior. Cities are continually inundated with the good, the bad and the ugly. In many cases the troubled and the unwanted seek refuge in cities far away from the rest of the country. Imagine a world where the cities did not accept them and sent them all home so that those folks in their home states have to deal with it all.
Yes, cities got flooded, but places like Kali put in strict laws to stop it. If the dems can squeeze out another ‘plague’ then we may see cities shutting out strangers. niio
Honey if the SHTF there will not be any jobs anywhere. No banks , no electricity and certainly no business. You are a dreamer for sure.
Thank you for the information.
The Adirondacks will survive!
Rick, Yes! The mountains will, but what about the people?
Those concerned with the hungry hordes invading the rural areas of NY,PA,et al, haven’t much to worry about. Even if,say,100,000 start out walking from NYC to upstate NY, there is going to be a BIG number who will not/cannot make it. If,as the post says, they are 6 hours from the city, how long will it take even a semi fit city dweller to get there? Even if they have cars, trucks, where are they gonna get the gas?.Nah, there are gonna be trails of dead leading upstate.
I would think that a lot of city and suburban people, especially the violent, criminal types, would be killed within a few months of any major collapse. Between fighting each other for control of territory and resources, lack of sanitation and the rapid spread of disease and disease spreading vermin, lack of discipline in rationing whatever supplies they do find and lack of climate control in the form of reliable electricity for heating and cooling, most of these criminal elements will die off rather quickly.
I don’t think many of these people are the type to think, “Oh, I’ll go find a nice farm and homestead there until things are back to normal”, or “Gee, we really ought to figure out what to do with all of the poop in the streets and the rats that are running all over.” I think they’re going to be thinking “Food, drugs, sex, liquor, drugs, sex, kill those guys and take their food, drugs, sex, liquor, etc.” Meanwhile, the other thugs are going to be the thinking the same thing and if they don’t kill each other or OD, diseases surely will because if all the people who are using the streets as a toilet NOW, and the vermin in these areas NOW it will be exponentially worse in a teotwawki event.
Sentinel, yes and no. There’s a lot of preppers in NYC, and few of them bought Gucci bugout bags. It might look like wholesale anarchy to an outsiders, but gangs and cliques are all over. Every ‘hood has them. That means each ‘hood is a potential militant threat. I bet almost 100% of guns in NYC aren’t registered. See one, count 99.9. There’s plenty of illegal garages, and that means machinists who can make weapons. Black powder is easy–there are herbal shops all over with the ingredients. Ships will still come in. the Hudson river is navigable for much of its length. Sailing is popular, which means raids up river and along the coast. People in NYC brag their city is built for walking and they love to walk. Most like camping. Do it yourself magazines and anything gardening or livestock is popular. Livestock are legal and popular in NYC. Survival is popular. Ask City Chick and others. If it hits in summer, the waverung will happen. We live in AZ and summer will be all that stands between us and being overrun. niio
AZ, neighbor, I used to work in Manhattan, Publisher’s Row. New York is a city built for walking. Ask CC, she’ll tell you. People raise livestock in apartments. Attending classes on small farms is mandatory for preteens. Living 5 stories up with no elevator is common and shrugged at. A lot of NYCers love magazines like Countryside small stock journal, which has been prepper since about 1889. Probably half the people could work new things out because they’re used to change and danger. I doubt that a tenth of one percent of guns are registered. You can buy pretty nearly anything if you know the blackmarket. Most garages aren’t registered, but ground floor apartments. Hidden gardens are all over. Aquaponics and canning are common. One biggie is taking classes on how-to slaughter anything from quail to cows and process them. Most are highly conservative and will not bow to liberalism. Yes, outwardly, but most are revolutionaries, but with caution. niio, be blessed because Arizona is home. Enjoy the weather even if it is a little warm now. Let it rain! 🙂
If you live in one of those bad states, don’t even think about coming to Missouri. You don’t want to live here. It is miserable and hot and humid and if you live in one of those cities on the coast especially, you will be screwed when you get here. No, I just stay put where you are.
Red- There you go spilling the beans!
CC: LOL. A lot of people who survive in rural areas are going to be shocked when one of those whimy, whining city folk stumble on them begging for help, then whip out an AR 15. Be prepared. niio
Red – Here in the big city, survival is something you do on a daily basis as soon as you walk out the door.
CC: Sorry, I done it again! Ratted out NYC is a prepper city, sorry 🙂 niio!
I’m reading comments and all that I see is look at me pat myself on the back. All you’ll get out of that is a hole in the shirt and a sore back. I live in Arizona, something most probably know. While I can brag on some things, I also try to show the negative. This helps to prevent raiders. It shows I do not live in the Elysian Fields so many of you seem to. “My part of () is nothing like down that way.” And now down that way knows there’s food up your way.
I like to walk. My people joke it makes our legs feel happy. Most people are that way, but when you have rivers, the sea, lakes to travel on, hordes will do that. Gangs are militant survivalists. They run on strict discipline and like old-time military, if you get out of line, you’re dead. Stop telling them how wonderful your place is or your area. They’re armed better than most of us and more determined because a bad leader gets fired, usually with a bullet in the back.
A suggestion, buy a hearing aide and batteries used for hunting. You can hear a mouse fart 30 yards downwind, let alone someone trying to sneak to your house through brush.
What do I brag on? You can garden year-’round. We’re all going solar, so we should have water as long as the pumps last. If you know what’s good to eat, you can eat well. Give us a little extra rain, just a scant few inches, and next year there’s hundreds of thousands of acres burning off. But, also, a joke; a man died and found himself standing at the Pearly Gates of Heaven. Frowning, St. Peter looked over his records.
“It says here, you were supposed to go to Hell.” He read some more and said, “Oh, you lived in Arizona. We take that as time served.”
If you think we don’t get a winter, Flagstaff usually has 97 inches of snow before Christmas, and a lot more after. Range cattle are common and think hikers are the start of football season. Snakes are common and no, no one kills them. What do you think keeps down the number of animals carrying hantavirus, bubonic plague, rabies, and so on? They also fatten roadrunners, which will kill you if you mess with them, hawks, eagles, and king snakes. If you eat barrel cactus, prepare for a lot of pain. They carry a chemical that causes kidney stones—anything else is Hollywood fantasy. Like an old desert rat told me when I was a kid, if it ain’t got horns, thorns, or fangs, it’s poison; that’s Arizona. What can I say? It’s home and I love the place, but I know the bad along with the good and prep for the bad first, always.
BTW, west end of the state, the I-10 corridor is going to be hell. It’s turning into one long housing development. Every little burg has housing developments around it, mostly people with no more idea of how to survive here than someone in England would. niio
Will solar panels survive an EMP to pump well water or generate electricity?
Adriane: Theoretically solar panels themselves will survive an EMP or CME. It is the associated electrical parts that theoretically will not survive. Most folks who claim to know suggest storing backup up rectifiers and wiring in a Farady cage so that one may replace them after a catastrophic event.
Red – What the liberal, progressives do not understand, and what the environmentalist seem to forget is that our natural resources, though plentiful, only stretch so far. Latest figures seem to indicate that there are 11 million people here illegally. That number does not include people here legally, or people who have over stayed their visas. Lake Mead is at its lowest level ever. There is no infrastructure in place to provide for all of these people. We have similar problems here in the big city.
CC: Fact! It’s all true what you say. I think we can double the number of illegals, tho, by adding in all the ‘guests’ BO allowed in, and the Clintons, as well, then decided to forget were here. And, don’t forget the 419,00+ slaves here thanks the dnc. niio
Red, what does niio mean?
Telling folks to bug out as soon as they see a problem and go to the midwest etc is ludicrous. Once it starts the people who have been there their whole lives are not going to welcome you with open arms. They want to survive and will do what it takes to do so. So either move NOW or plan to hunker down and do what needs to be done where you are NOW. Prepping is NOT that hard if you do it a bit at a time. I just hope for your sake you haven’t waited too long.
Red – Absolutely! Now I hear that the new administration in Washington, DC, through its relationship with Planed Parenthood, wants to use abortion as a routine means of population control to help the environment just like they do in communist China. Floating all of this brain washing in school heath class curriculums as early as kindergarten. Between that and CRT, I suspect that all this time in which schools were closed devious plans were lauded out and teachers were trained.
CC: I heard today on an alternative news program that the American soldiers being sent to Ukraine to possibly face nuclear armaments are mostly BLACK! How’s that for this Administration claiming to treat everyone with “equity”??
I’ m old so might not live long after SHTF, but I am preparing just the same. You all better do the same medicine will be like gold we all need it some times. I have started buying survival food while I can. I buy from 4Patriots and have their Solor Power Generator and Sidekick with a military EMP bag.It is not cheap to buy now but will be price less IF and WHEN we are in that SHITF place. An AK-47 is the best weapon for endurance as it can withstand more abuse than a M-16 or AR-15. Ammo can be bought at 1,000 rounds for the AK-47 rather cheap now so stock up while you can. A Mossburg 12 gage. pump Shotgun I think a 650. If you want a higher Stopping Power rifle go for a Marlin 1985 GS in .45.70 cal You make your own choice any refile is better than no rifle. There are al kinds of books and articles on Survival you can download on the internet.
I wonder where Canada stands in all of this. Living on the West Coast.
Considering that our good neighbors to the north closed the border and won’t allow any infected Yanks into their country, I would place my money on the Canuks closing their borders in the event of some catastrophic event. However, that said, we in the Yew Ess of Aii who are much larger can’t adequately police our northern border, so my suspicion is that our friendly neighbors to the north may make an show at closing the border, but just don’t have the manpower to secure the border and control the turmoil in their cities simultaneously, so the evil Yanks will be able to easily slip over the border. But then what?
What are you going to do in Canadaland that you can’t do in the U.S. Do you think that whatever has affected the U.S. won’t affect all of Canada that is along the border? Most of the industry and population is within 100 miles of the border. Are you going to survive in the Northwest Territories?
Do you think the locals are going to welcome Yanks from the south coming up to their country in a time of turmoil?
The mosquitoes of the North will quickly discourage the unprepared as well as the biting black flies and make daily life difficult.
Calvin Rutstrum’s classic, “Paradise Below Zero”, took this into account, hence the book…………………..Nemo
Folks consider this. The Democrat party is wanting something like this to happen. I think a lot of you can understand this considering their pattern of behavior. What they want to happen is for them to be able to declare martial law.
Then the federal government will “temporarily enact” all the dreams and wish list of the far left. Consider the Constitution gone.
The law states that under a state of martial law they can confiscate guns, food, fuel and the law doesn’t matter because they will be doing whatever they want to and if you don’t like it you’re a racist or whatever.
Everyone has made some excellent points, from relocating now if you can, to starting or expanding a garden, to arming up, to learning more about wild foods that you can forage both in your own area and any place you might find yourself in in the future.
One thing that I personally am concerned about is the possibility that interstate travel may be impossible or severely limited in a future disaster. This would mean not only the inability to relocate to your BOL, but food and other supplies being unable to get from point A to point B. That would be the first place the government would be looking at to control the food supply btw, – production facilities and warehouses. Those will fall first, and then you will have to take the commucratic oath of perpetual loyalty and servitude in order to get your allotment of rice and beans from the government controlled distribution centers. If you DON’T show up for your rations, THEN they’ll come out to you to find out why. And they’re likely to be armed SWAT teams, because you might be a “domestic terrorist” or a member of a “dangerous cult”, like Jonestown or the people in Waco, TX.
We all need to do a thorough assessment of where the best possible place is for us to hunker down and wait out the worst of whatever the future brings, go there as soon as possible and make sure we can provide for at least part of our food and water. The window of time that we have to effectively act is rapidly growing smaller, and as we saw last year with the covid shutdowns, it may close with little or no notice.
Miz Kitty, how do? By all means, yes, collect what’s offered or expect to be spied on, questioned, perhaps picked up and taken downtown. Liberals love 3rd world tactics, at least until they’re forced to live like that. After that, they’ll report any suspicion they have like good houseboys.
Interstate highways probably will not fare well. Travel will be restricted a la 3rd world nation. Interstates are already in trouble thanks to all the cheating done in construction and repairs. State routes aren’t a lot better, but most were put in in the 30s. niio
Our federal government has a great deal of power…and states are the counterbalance that power. Local elections matter.
Recently, in Plano TX, 2 conservative city council seats were lost in very tight races to NATIONAL PARTY BACKED DEMOCRATS. These are supposed to be NONPARTISAN ELECTIONS, where political endorsements or affiliation are not supposed to be in campaign literature. The turnout was less than 40 percent of voters ELIGIBLE to vote in the original election! Here, you had to have voted in the first election, to vote in the runoff!
60 percent of people apparently DO NOT CARE ENOUGH TO SHOW UP!
REGARDLESS OF YOUR FLAVOR OF POLITICS…IT IS IMPORTANT TO SHOW UP CONSISTENTLY—orherwise, you get what you get…and you better damn well be prepared to live with it. Complacency is what is going to let all this BS happen, if it happens. The time has come to get serious and put the shit kicking boots on.
You are absolutely right. The silent majority cannot be silent any longer. We still have time to remind our country that we the people are served by the government, not the other way around.
Get involved. Local races, Republican committees have almost no representation but the liberals are all active. We work hard and try to enjoy our lives when not working, and don’t bother others.
We have to get involved and be part of our country. We can’t sit quietly, tell them you want to have a servant leader government. Show others how to take care of themselves. Make sure we teach the younger generation about the joy in taking care of themselves and others. Show our pride in the country.
I’m in Kansas. It’s quiet so far. This is a terrible place to try to survive without the grid. Flat land that freezes and ices in the winter but turns into a humid hot seared land in summer. Two seasons you can die in. The natives lived here in fall and spring, but ran for the trees in the summer and winter.
Little water, too much wind, but its cheap and good jobs for now.
Best of luck to everyone. We can bring it back on track if we just do it. Support our good leaders and we won’t have to go into survival mode
If you’re still stuck on the idea of “elections”, time to do deeper digging and learn it’s ALWAYS been “selections”. Don’t waste your time on lying, divisive politics now. Time to see real enemy of humanity is tiny group oligarch-satanists protected by uniformed thugs and masons worldwide. They have been planning and planning to make their move. And, here we are with endless clueless zombies, now jabbed and hive-mind control-linked into satellite grid. The minions are too tel-lie-vision-programed to have any discernment and critical thinking ability. All the big talkers don’t realize “their” weapons are far past what minions have available. Guess there’s always hope, but too many continue to slide along into the pit of lies.
X, Very well said and you hit the nail on the head! Sheeple are so brain washed and mind controlled that they believe everything they hear or see on the orchestrated news owned by those same oligarch satanists, that flouridate the water, and are in control of the tanker planes that are spraying highly toxic aerosols worldwide under the bullshit science title of Geo-Engineering that they say is their effort to decrease the amount of sunshine that reaches the Earth in order to combat Global warming. It’s really about controlling the weather, spraying highly toxic mixtures that everyone breaths with every breath, containing alluminum micro-particulate matter that easily crosses the blood-brain barrier and has everything to do with dementia and alzheimers being such a common cause of death, for those who are able to survive all the cancers and other chemically fueled poisonous ways to assist in “Culling the Herd!”
Conspiracy? You’re God Damn Right!
Somehow Good is said to win in the end but it sure is hard to imagine how, when one realizes how many folks are sleep walking in the world, believing all the lies and anything that they hear, whether it makes sense or not, still believing that the political puppets really care about, “We, The People!”
They totally are behind “Black lives matter” as they try to drive wedges between people, hoping for racial wars, as they shut down the world, seeing what all we will put up with and for how long! And based on what we’ve endured the past year plus, they have more plans that they are confident that they believe they can get away with, related to this Variant idea! Keep your eyes on the UK and watch them have the nerve to attempt to shut down the country again only this time for good! They are quickly trying to make major changes overnight as they try to meet their deadlines that are rapidly approaching! I won’t pretend to know any more about what’s in store but I do know that they will take as much as we allow them to take, just like always, only worse, and as usual, they continue to use FEAR as the primary tool to deceive!
It’s all very overwhelming and inconceivable and they count on us to continue to stand by as they operate their evil before our eyes, changing Laws overnight and somehow pulling off serious shit that noone knows how to stop!
And they somehow have been allowed to get this far, manipulating on a global scale and gaining more power by every tick of the clock!
Who is capable of pulling this kind of diabolical insanity and greed against the people, poisoning the same planet that we all must exist upon! Who commits such acts of destruction on the very soil they must be part of also and why? For money?
No! as X says very clearly and literally, for the Devil himself, who we are warned about in Revelations! It’s the only thing that really makes sense when you consider all of the simultaneous crimes against humanity and the planet that we seem to have no way of stopping! Somehow there is 1% of the population who controls everything and everyone and most of us cannot even comprehend what is happening! And won’t until we are forced to either bow down or choose death! What will you do when presented with the decision to bow down to evil or meet the Grim Reaper? I hope we never find out!
Subjects to google: MK Ultra, Project Paper Clip, “Controlling the Weather by 2030”,
Geoengineering, Sustained Development, Dr. David Keith of Harvard, The Upcoming Food Shortage of 2023-24, Disaster Capitalism, Why the EPA stopped testing for Aluminum in the environment in 2004, and the list goes on and on!
Anyone who doubts the idea of Geoengineering and the idea of tanker planes spraying our skies, worldwide with toxic chemicals, creating the clouds that slowly toxify the same air we breath just watch the film “Frankenskies” made by Matt Landman that does a great job explaining what is happening from the beginning. It’s very well researched and explained.
I sound crazy don’t I? Like I believe in conspiracies, right? That’s the exact seed that the CIA planted when publicly associating the term “Conspiracy” with anyone who believes in any idea relating to theories of the Government hiding various secrets like UFOs, JFK’s death being an inside job, 911 inside job, and anything else involving any government cover-up being believed by a certain type of person presented as a paranoid, delusional person who they have publicly humiliated and suggested that they believe in conspiracies, so that the public automatically judges anyone associated with that term as a nut! (A perfect example of mind control using the power of suggestion and association).
I avoid my email because whenever I do read it, I tend to spend large amounts of time inundated with information that is easy to become absorbed in, but please realize that it’s difficult for anyone to present any of the ideas that are all a small part of the big picture, without sounding like a nut, and make the choice to research some of it yourself and develop your own opinions about whatever you decide sounds crazy.
Tammy, Florida is indeed a beautiful state, and has top notch plans in place to deal with the damage any hurricane might bring, but the state on a whole is sinking. Not just along the. coast, but inland too. Where do you think all those sink holes that pop up now and thencome from?
Let alone the gators that kill people on a regular basis?
Bottom line … try to live away from major population centers, cities where the crazy people live. If not, have a plan, a bugout location, call it a winter or summer cabin or whatever. Be prepared. Work your plan and constantly upgrade and improve. Remote hilly or mountain locations are harder to reach but offer more security. Then again, larger families and close knit friends groups (military vets understand this psychology) offer even better security. Make it all part of thr plan. EMPs are a threat but they are not thr major threat now – neither is an attack by a foreign power … either woukd be suicidal. The major threat to this country right now is from within. Communists and socialists are now deeply rooted in all aspects of our federal government. Start thinking about how to defeat them … quit worrying about everything else. Focus on the real enemy within.
Moderate Democrats have a 6 vote majority in the house. The Senate is 50-50. The Federal Judiciary is dominated by Trump appointees. Republicans have full control in 24 states with 134 million people, Dems have full control of 18 states with 120 million people. Republicans have a legislative majority in 30 states and are in charge of drawing legislative districts as the final results of the 2020 census come in. McConnel is going to block every dem program from now on, and the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban is likely to destroy Dem presidential hopes in 2024. Communists and Socialists taking over is a fantasy, never forget, “We have met the enemy and he is us.” Everybody needs to be a lot more skeptical about the info flooding the sewer called Internet. We used to say, “You can’t tell s from Shinola.”
judge: Sir, dems have slaughtered tens of thousands in a bid to overthrow the legal, lawfully elected president, AKA Lincoln. They lie, cheat, and murder at will because the end justifies the means. They have legions of brownshirts to do their dirty work, blackmail, and now another possible enemy of theirs ‘committed suicide.’ We’re facing the Weimar Republic that set the stage for Hitler. Dems do not act except Hitler wanted it, or would have approved of it. That did not come off the net, but from ex-Nazis in the family. niio
Reading literature on the SHTF topic can keep you awake at night, but I would rather be sleepy than ignorant when everything suddenly stops…
“The strong survive”, so not all the bad people would die off, in fact large local gangs could dominate after SHTF. So yes, definitely try to live in the country outside the “big city RED ZONE”. But close to a town that can be a potential “fallback fortress” for survival. Get involved with the local city government. Volunteer on planning committees and help now, so that later you will be a welcome face.
You can’t sugar coat the numerous worst-case scenarios caused by an EMP. Regardless, if it is a solar flare, or an EMP sneak attack, everyone will know immediately when 5,000 “fried” planes start falling out of the sky, mostly near major airports. We have learned in the last year watching the “Big Cities” burn due to peaceful riots, that after an EMP, the “kill or be killed” SHTF disaster will start within hours after dark, not days later. There are millions that have no food in their fridge, and they will be looting after dark to acquire survival food, and more likely they will start before it is dark.
It would still be an extreme disaster, but much of the permanent damage could be prevented if our government would “harden” our electrical grids and other strategic infrastructure, like water supplies, communications, technology centers, medical facilities, military bases, etc. But that would cost another trillion…
Preparing everyday is not optional. Just In case.
After the entire state of Texas was brought to it’s knees in only a few days…due to a winter storm that would be gone soon.
Imagine a permanent failure to the grid and everything else…it is an unimaginable horror!!!
It is possible many innocents in the “big cities” will perish horribly in the first two weeks, most likely due to dehydration, starvation, or violent crime. The violent ruthless heavily armed criminal gangs, including drug cartels (that grow to 100 members or more) that are also led by ex-military members will know enough about “guerilla tactics” to easily survive the disaster and be a dominant force after the first week. With no way to communicate, city governments will not be able to function. Water supplies will stop, and fires will burn out of control. Police will be outnumbered by many thousands of armed looters and gang members. Protecting their own family will obviously become a priority after the 1st day.
Small rural towns with smart leaders and contingency plans (with 1,000 or more armed “deputized” civilians) that have (military trained) law enforcement may be able to turn their city into a “base of operations” that will be able to protect the city and surrounding areas, but everyone else must become invisible…it is not likely a prepped family can survive a confrontation with ruthless gangs.
Is an EMP scenario more possible than other disaster scenarios? Maybe. The communist prefer not to engage in a “no-win” nuclear war with our military. They want to control the entire planet and they prefer the valuable resources of North America and the rest of the world to be free of radiation. After an EMP sneak attack that suddenly “turns the technology OFF forever” and results in the deaths of many millions of Americans, a strange new deadly bio-warfare virus will quietly eliminate many of the survivors within the 1st year. Our Warriors Of Liberty & Freedom will not go quietly, but without a vaccine, they will be challenged in our own homeland. And of course, our enemies will not know who could have done this to the USA and offer to assist our country…and the young American survivors will learn to speak a communist language.
All fiction…and I hope it stays fiction.
I’m all for being prepared for “what if scenarios”, but how this is presented in this article skimming the surface, based only upon the obvious, is totally Ridiculous!
But look at all the info, experiences, and strong opinions an article like this elicits in replies. Nobody too way out, general respectful disagreement, always entertaining. Gotta say to Red, the Dems of the time were rebelling against a Republican President who declared the 10th Amendment irrelevant and made the Federal Gov for the 1st time sovereign over the States. Shoot, I’m happy to live in a red state even though our Governor is an ambitious fool, just wish The Republicans could’ve put an end to slavery w/o creating this uncontrollable monster of a Federal Government.
Judge: Sir, Lincoln did his best to stop a war. The dems fired first, bombing federal property. A lot of people took the failure of the dems to take the fortress without damaging it, and with no casualties as a sign from heaven. Dem arrogance is why we’re where we are today. Why we have over 400,000 slaves in the US. Suspension of the 10th was temporary and meant to be only that. Dems see it differently and abuse it. Arizona and a number of other states declared sovereignty over the feds, and that’s how it should be.
I live in NW New Mexico. All wood and cooking. When the electricity goes out, it’s time to go to bed. Winters are pretty rough here with lots of cold and wind. We have wells here but pumping from 60′ requires a little effort. Prepping is more than storing food and ammo. It’s a way of life that just can’t come out of a book. Being homeless, eating anything and everything that may be unsavory is something that will knock off most concrete dwellers. Long periods of time with nothing other than wind chimes and gathering rocks, needs to become a passion. Hygiene and foot care will make or break your ability to endure. Embracing hunger as an ally will teach you thankfulness and fortitude. Funny how so many “preppers” think 3 months of MREs’ will grant you security. As the neighbors drop off in the cities, there will be moments of opportunity to scavenge and return to the one room you have sealed off to make it through a cold and electricity challenged winter. But hang tough- the lilacs and hummingbirds will welcome and thank you when they visit in the spring. Rinse and repeat.
Here in SC, many of our citizens still have minimal electric (some had none up until the 1950’s, including my grandmother) and hand pumped wells. The generation that is passing now have taught their younger family members (ages 50-65) the old ways, so, we grow crops, can food, and meat. For those who are not saavy, a good supply of canned goods will last a long time, long after the best by date. Most prep foods need water, and water may be scarce. Everyone should have a water filter and a rain collection barrel, and if you ar near a lake pond or stream, a good water filter and chemicals for water purification. Biggest danger here is nuclear plants.
I know where I am going, and none of y’all are invited. Got firing lanes ready (naturally). Already know who/what disappears first.
One thing I don’t think anyone has talked about is that if things fall apart like that our enemies will see it as an opportunity to attack & take over. They won’t care if any of us survive.
I think most would rather avoid that. We know it on a basic level. Locals will be needed, at least for a time, to keep ranches and so on from falling into disrepair. Local government with overseers are always needed. Again, for a time. Then will come the genetic cleansing we see in China today. niio
The Bible does prophesy about it being worst than anything ever before , BUT HE will provide a way out. He also promises that HE will never leave or forsake us & HE promises that our bread and water shall be sure. I’m preparing by getting my life right with Him and trusting in His promises to me, to all of us. That’s the safest bet. He has moved us to the country.., we are making provision knowing we will be helping others during the times ahead, it will get really bad right before the LORD returns… this time to take us home with HIM. Remember folks – Jesus said “be not deceived” when He spoke of the last days. The antiChrist will be walking the earth but Jesus will not – we will be caught up in the air to meet HIM. May we all get our lives right with Him and seek the truth. If you seek God, HE will lead you in all truth. Read your Bible! He wishes no one to be lost. That all would come to repentance. Blessings. Amazing facts. org is a great site for straight biblical TRUTH.
T Ruth, if you are relying on “Jesus” (a mistransliterated/made up name), you have already been deceived: the name above all names that saves is Yeshua (ya Shoe’ ah), the true son of YHWH/son of man, and only Messiah. The Romans, especially Constantine, used religion for ‘crowd control’ to foster & force pagan religious beliefs for everyone (Roman, Jew, etc.), and changed via his scribes (creatively edited) the New Testament AND the big ten from the Old Testament (by creating ‘Lord’s Day’ to REPLACE the 4th Commandment ~ the sabbath was changed by a mere man, not by the Author/Creator); as proven in the Dead Sea Scrolls. No disrespect meant, just speaking truth; what you do with it is your business.
Blessings.
Amen! Have you read Gen. Washington’s 3 prophecies? The last has yet to be fulfilled, the black clouds.
tango romeo: Jesus is the English version of Yeshua. Issa is Arabic. Tsisa (Loving Joy) is Cherokee. Peace, walk in His beauty
T Ruth, I am a year late but just want to say you are 100% right about getting right with the Lord Jesus! Just remember with we must be wise as serpents yet gentle as doves. That means we must be ready for anything because the Lord is revealing us the truth of what is going on in the world. Yes, Matthew 24, Jesus says, don’t be deceived. Discern the times because the fig tree’s fruit is ripe! Prepare for this time and if the Lord comes in the clouds, then the things you prepared for may be for the Tribulation saints! That’s what I pray for!
Get out of the cities! Move Now, Flee!!! the time of the Cities are over!!!
This is true God never wanted man to congregate in cities but to be spread out, now though its coming to and end. To much wickedness to much evil grows in these cities as it was posted earlier posted. We have become totally corrupt as a nation. God Have Mercy
Not true. God’s ultimate plan is to place all of the ones who are saved into his own city, the new Jerusalem, which is described in pretty rich detail in Rev 21. So the arc of the story of God is to go from a garden without sin with just a couple people into a city without sin filled with millions of people from every nation, tribe, and tongue.
You are obviously correct that our cities have a lot of sin and corruption (so do rural areas though…look at all the drug addiction and despair, that’s just the nature of a fallen world). But God is not against cities, or he wouldn’t be planning an eternal one.
Cities are bad, easily controlled, and people are sheep for the slaughter. But, read what CC writes. She’s wise and canny and to be respected if not admired.
I agree that it’s hard to be a good believer in a city but they’re there. Country people tend to be quick on the brain or quickly dead. We think, then act, and that’s why most are strong believers. We think things out. walk in His beauty
Tango Romeo, I believe you speak truth – especially about the Sabbath day – the 7th day being the true Sabbath. The popular Christians will go along when the Pope sets up this in the near future. The reformers like Martin Luther pointed to Rome (Daniel 7&8) and the Catholic church as being the anti-Christ in studying Daniel and Revelation. The Bible teaches that the mark of the beast is the catholic church trying to change God’s law making laws against ones that keep the true 7th day Sabbath. This is not against the dear Catholic people that have no idea about these things.
On the name, I know you speak correctly for the languages in which HIS name was spoke. But to say Jesus, is the same to me in English as when you speak His name in another language. I am worshipping the Messiah – the One Whom is the Son of God.
I look forward to HIS soon coming! Get ready, get ready, get ready… prepare to meet Thy God. He wishes no one to be lost and all to be saved.
Of course Sabbath is still Sabbath. Son’s Day, aka sunday, was also a meeting/teaching/worship day. Friday evening is worship. Some preaching, but mostly be still and let God love you. Every day should be your Sabbath day. peace to you.
Red: I love what you said here. To tell the truth, none of us has any chance of survival on our own. Even every breath we take comes from the Lord God Almighty! We do what we can very carefully, knowing it will all depend upon God’s provision for us, regardless. That being said, it would not hurt anyone to buy a little silver or gold while they still can! I heard some specialists say the window of time before the prices start climbing drastically is 2 weeks from today, 5/5/23. I hope they are wrong, but we can only do what we can afford right now! Thank the LORD he knows everything we do or ever will need!
Tango Romeo and T Ruth:
You’re both right: Jesus is the Koine Greek pronunciation and spelling of the Hebrew name Yeshua, or in English, Joshua. Koine Greek was widely spoken and written in Israel (Palestine as the Romans named it after they subjugated the region.) at the time of Jesus’s life and ministry. Most people in the region used it, including the Roman soldiers, many of whom were not themselves Roman and spoke little or no Latin. It was preferred over Latin also because the Jews didn’t want to use the language of their hated oppressors and many refused to learn it, as did many other people in the region. It was the everyday language of the marketplace and the common people by the time of Jesus’s birth, as the Romans vanquished Israel in 63 BC. Jesus grew up a subjugated citizen of a police state, so He would have been comfortable with the language from childhood, and would have spoken Hebrew at home, synagogue and with friends.
Koine Greek was used for the Gospels because it was still in common use when the Gospels were finally set down on paper to help combat the rise of “Jesus stories” that people were circulating that weren’t authentic.
Well said.
And before you know it, those safer states will be metropolises because everyone scurried to them. Wide open spaces will no longer be available and everyone will be fighting just like they were in the big cities prior to the evacuation of them! This is a no win/fix suggestion, but the only one that makes any sense for a VERY temporary bit of relief!
Vary Good information to all that read it,
I agree a bout the big cites , I moved a way from a city of 13000,
To a small village of just over 200, and that is on of the main reason I did.
If what they are talking a bout here comes to pass ,Most people know people in a small village .
and are more then willing to help each other, ,
And small villages on this highway that gose threw here,
There a lot more friendly then the big cities where there is a great lack of trust and every one scampering to get by to pay there bill and to take care of there family’s because people moving in and out of these cities and you don.t get to know these people moving in like you do a small village. But being its a small village ,
Housing is limited So it limits the amount of people that can live in them.
And most small villages help each other witch forms a vary good bond between its population,
In that area,, ,
Those who know the Lord Jesus Christ will live by faith. I’m not talking about a casual knowledge or casual faith. This is the time to prepare spiritually. I have also prepared physically, but my faith is not in guns or stored food, it is in Jesus Christ.
I think the key to survival is to have a valuable skill that will be in great demand. For California, one such skills stands out: face and nose piercing and tattooing of women’s privates so that they can display how bold they are.
For the ear, tongue, nose, and other face piercing, I plan to offer 5.56, 7.62, or 9 mm. For genital, breast, or navel piercings, larger calibers will be available. No extra charge for buckshot. The piercing operation is instantaneous and is guaranteed to be painless during the piercing (butt not afterward). I was thinking about offering a giant head ring that would go into one ear and come out the other; my advanced piercing technology would make the required hole, and if you complain after the procedure, your money will be cheerfully refunded.
With such a business model, one is sure to prosper in the coming acopolypse. We must all know and respect the thoughts of truly important leaders like Michael Jackson, Tom Cruise, Britney, Oprah, Kamala, and Madona.
I disagree with what the writer has said about New York State. New York City, yes, that is all true, but we live 6 hrs. north of there, only 2 hrs. max to the Canadian border. Our entire area is agricultural, plus our county is the No. 2 county in the entire USA for apple production! Yes, we are even ahead of all but one county in Washington State!!! We have grape vineyards and berry farms, veggie farms, meat & milk producers, and orchards, all around us. AND our little almost 5 acres produces more food than we can possibly use! That is why we have friends come pick blueberries and blackberries (and some raspberries) for free! The gooseberries were wonderful this year, the blackberries look like “BONZAI!’ this summer, and the Arena Berries (superfood) crop is coming on soon, too. Last year, we gave away approximately 55 quarts of berries to friends who came to pick. Someone decided to write an article about which they do not know much. Upstate New York is ENTIRELY DIFFERENT from NYC, and has ABUNDANT agriculture and wild edibles all over the place!! We also have abundant water sources with wild geese and much wild game around us, too!
Stupid auto correct changed my typing of Arena Berries (Aronia) three times now! See, it just did it two times again, but I fixed the one in the parentheses!! Aronias are unusual in our area, and they tend to be astringent, but once you freeze them and then take them back out to put on oatmeal or whatever, they are quite tasty, and the nutrition is amazing! They hail from Europe, so not quite well known around here yet, but so easy to grow!
I stopped there one time about 40 years ago. Cleanest little town I’ve ever seen. Very neat.
Did you notice that when covid hit New York City; The people who fled were in the 1% economic group. They were the only ones who could afford to move out of the city.
If an E.M.P. attack is so effective; why didn’t the Russians use one on Kiev?
The Chinese Natl. Govt.’s #1 foreign investment is U.S. treasury bonds. If anyone destroys our Economy; It will destroy China’s too. They hate us. but the love the stability of the U.S. Dollar. The U.S. dollar is accepted world wide. It does not matter what you’re buying. Most black market dealers will insist on U.S. dollars.
When do you expect the U.S. economy to crash anytime soon?
I live in the most north part of Idaho up by Canada. No real big cities for miles and miles I live on a mountain 1 mile for the road it is hard to spot my home. My water is gravity feed and comes straight out from under a cedar tree. I have a cave that I can also retreat to I have an underground cellar and good luck finding it. I also have a second source of water also gravity fed. My heat source is wood and have several years worth stacked and rotate so it does not rot. I have seeds I also rotate to grow garden food. I have 2 kinds of dear, elk, moose, bear, turkey the roam my property all the time, a lake directly above and below me to supply fish. Growing season is long enough to grow supplies needed for minerals and vitamin. We have huckleberries, wild blackberries, elderberries, the list goes on and I have learned how to use many of the plants here for medical issues. The use of bow and arrows sling shots as well as guns. How to make natural soaps and what rocks to use to make about anything you would need, wood working tools that I can use by hand. Wood cooking stove to make canning easier and plenty of the old jars to use. I have a ton of candle wax and plenty to make wicks out of. I have also stock piles material for making what ever is needed along with thread and needles, a room set up in case doctoring is needed. And I don’t live to far away from an ice cave and have an old ice box as well. I think that should about do it .
During the panademic; a majority of the people who fleed NYC had one thing in common: about $1000,000 in assets.
Don’t forget about VA and MD being so close to DC, and…well….
