Prepping is a state of mind. At a fundamental level you believe in preparedness or you don’t; it’s black and white, a binary choice.
Either you’re the sort of person who responds to any crisis by calling for help, or your instinct is to get to work and cope with it yourself. You’re a prepper or you’re not a prepper – you can’t be half of one.
If you are a prepper, though, there are different levels of preparedness. Being prepared is a strategy to get you through life in the best shape – but within that strategy, at the tactical level, how prepared are you?
Preparedness Level 1 – Life’s Little Bumps
Most people who get into prepping don’t even realize they’ve taken the first steps.
They buy a few boxes of candles and get a proper first aid kit for their house. In their own minds, they’re not becoming preppers – they’re just taking a few common-sense precautions against something going wrong.
Of course, we know what they’re really doing. They’re aiming to be ready if a mishap strikes. You know – prepared. They’re preppers; they just don’t really know it yet.
A Level 1 prepper is ready to overcome disruptions in their day-to-day life. Could you cope with these scenarios, based on the common-sense precautions you’ve taken?
• A power outage. Do you have a box of candles in a closet, ideally with a lighter or box of matches tucked into one end? Or maybe you picked up two or three LED lanterns when the hardware store had them on sale, and you keep them fully charged “just in case”.
• A twisted ankle or sprained elbow. Most people’s home medical supplies don’t go much beyond Tylenol. If you can bandage a swollen ankle or treat a nasty cut you’re already ahead of the curve.
• Storms. If it snows heavily do you just hunker down and wait for the ploughs and a thaw? Or do you have a snow shovel to clear a path to your car, and chains to keep it moving?
Preparedness Level 2 – Serious Incidents
Once you’ve taken the first step, and accepted that it’s up to you to deal with life’s challenges, it’s easy to upgrade your preparations to handle things that are a bit more serious.
Stepping up to Level 2 is when you go beyond being ready for things that are probably going to happen and prepare for things that might happen:
• Your car breaking down in the middle of nowhere. Do you have the tools and spares to fix common problems? Is there an emergency kit in the trunk in case you have to spend a night in the car?
• A fracture or major wound. If someone in your home breaks a leg or suffers a bad cut, you’re going to call a doctor – but it’s good to have the skills and supplies to handle it yourself, just in case the doctor’s delayed or can’t reach you because of the weather.
Related: How To Make Antiseptic Sugardine To Treat Wounds And Inflammation
• Utility failures. What happens if the town water supply gets contaminated? Will you be waiting for the government to drop off a pallet of bottles, like all your neighbors? Or do you have a few barrels of water stored for emergencies, and perhaps even a rainwater catchment system?
Preparedness Level 3 – Having A Bad Week
You’re prepared for things that happen and need to be overcome, so you can get on with life. How about things that change the way you live, at least temporarily? Something as simple as the weather can throw you back on your own resources for days, maybe even weeks.
Moving up to Level 3 is where preppers start to maintain stockpiles of food, fuel, and other essentials. It’s where you can cope without power for extended periods. Could you deal with these scenarios?
• A serious blizzard. Bad winter weather can leave you cut off for weeks. Even when the snow stops falling it can take a while for roads to be open again. If you have enough food and fuel to keep you going until life returns to normal, you’re at Level 3.
• Major power outages. Level 1 and 2 preppers can cope if the power’s out for a few hours because someone wrapped a truck round a utility pole. At Level 3 you can ride out an outage lasting days or weeks. Maybe you have a generator and fuel supply. Maybe you have kerosene lanterns and a wood stove, so you don’t need electricity at all. Either way, you’re pretty prepared.
Preparedness Level 4 – Major Collapse
Of course, things can get much worse than a bad blizzard. We all saw that in 2008 when the financial crash hit.
The Covid pandemic was another great example of how bad things could get. Remember when toilet paper was selling on eBay at $99 a roll?
Related: Toilet Paper Pills – The Best Invention You Didn’t Know Existed
And of course, there are major natural disasters to think about, too.
• Earthquakes or floods. What if there’s a disaster bad enough that it’s not just a matter of clearing snow off the infrastructure, fixing some damage, and switching it back on? What if serious rebuilding is needed, taking months or years? Will you have to abandon your home, or are you independent enough from the grid that you can carry on with life?
• Financial crisis. This has happened before and it’s happened again. If you lose your job do you have a cash reserve to keep you going, the skills and supplies to grow your own food, and independent sources of energy and water? If so, you’re at Level 4.
Preparedness Level 5 – It’s The End Of The World As We Know It
Global war. EMP attack. Extinction-level impactor event.
The worst that could happen has happened – but it didn’t land on your house, and for now you’re still alive. Help won’t be coming though, because every other survivor is at least as badly off as you and probably a lot worse.
This is the ultimate challenge. Are you prepared enough to not just survive the catastrophe, but to carry on and start to rebuild? Do your skills and supplies make you self-sufficient, able to provide everything you need even if the stores never open again?
If so, congratulations – you’re a Level 5 prepper, and you’re ready for anything!

said well – definition of a prepper in a nutshell ….
there ain’t such thing as a halfway crook 🙂
Prepping 101 never put all your eggs in one basket. Can’t take what they can’t find
Got a neighbor who IS thinking, just not enough. ONE 5 gal camping water container with built in spigot, maybe 20 cans of food like Spaghetti O’s or a few of hash. No fuel, no solar, no generator. Right idea, poor execution and a bit naive. I always ask these people what will their two BIG dogs eat and drink. They look at me with a blank look.
Sometimes teasing yourself is almost worse than doing nothing. False sense of security and none of scale.
Under Martial Law which America might see, it’s in the laws they CAN come in and take it ALL from you! Surreal.
Under Martial Law, I am sure they will go after softer targets first.
And they’ll find a lot of them , just not here
And take it they will try.
Good luck to them. If I have to, I’ll go down fighting and try to take as many of them with me as I can.
Omg this is my mother. Back during the pandemic our small town store shelves were empty for about 3 weeks. I took my mother coffee, filters, tp, food etc. I spoke with her about being more prepared for things like this and I kid you not her response was “why I know you’ll take care of me!” Smh sadly many will rely on the kindness of others rather than help themselves.
And they’ll find a lot of them , just not here
I need more ammo
Everybody does.
There’s never enough, CC. Even if we had a million rounds on hand that’s not enough. A days walk south of me there are maybe 4 or 5 million people. If something really serious happens and they’re starving to death they’ll start heading north looking for any food still left. Then it’ll come down to hand to hand fighting. It won’t be pretty.
That’s it. That is the very end. I just wrote a long post that the damned screening device killed. I am through with this website. Claude, you know where you can put it.
Damn it Chuck, what about all your fans here? You are not allowed to be done with us!
Thumbs down because I don’t want you to be done with the site. I agree with Judge Holden. You have peeps here that look forward to your input. What could you possibly have said to bring down the wrath of the screening device?????? No BUENO!
Chuck, I implore you. Don’t give up on this website and us so easily. You’re a fighter. THEN FIGHT! Don’t give up so easily because of a relatively minor glitch. You can NEVER give up on fighting. I’m not. I may make mistakes along the way but I will NEVER give up. Yes, I may have been wrong about Trump. Are you less of a person than me? I THINK NOT! There’s just too much at stake right now because of all the stupid crap going on around us. And definitely in the short term it’s not going to get better. Right now it’s more important for us to stick together than not. You and what you have to say are respected and important. More important than you realize. This website would be so much less without you on it. I’ve learned that MOST of the time on this website the comments go through without any trouble. The ODD time the website WILL eat your comments and it can be very frustrating and annoying. And especially for me with my amazing typing skills. It takes me forever even to just write a short post. The easy way around it is to highlight and copy your comments BEFORE you post them, EACH TIME, and then if this website does eat your comments just paste your comments in the comment box and then just re-post your comments a second time without having to re-write your comments. Works like a charm every time. I’ve never had to re-post my comments a third time. Not hearing the amazing things you have to say would be like not hearing from Kitty or Clergylady or any of the other caring, compassionate, amazing people on here that I love and respect. And that are trying to pass their wisdom onto the rest of us. If we’re just willing to listen. Being without these people would diminish us all. The debates between us here ARE important. Please reconsider your decision for the greater good. Speaking from personal experience, Chuck, we ALL get angry and frustrated at some point. We have to move beyond it. Doesn’t mean that I won’t still give you shit if you deserve it. 😉
You may be right Chuck. I posted a very impassioned reply to you and it came up with the duplicate post warning and the post is not coming up right away anymore. So I’m hoping the reply will still turn up later. If it doesn’t I’ve saved the comment somewhere else and will be able to repost when Claude stops screwing around with the website. Don’t leave.
The reply came up. better late than never.
@ LCC !!!!!!!!!!!!
you know that this was not going to be easy and it would test all of you at times and this is just one of those times.
I’ve done the same and did it piss me off. But remember that you have been placed here to give every one your input about survival.
So “toughen” up {soldier} and get back to the “fight”.
WE need (every one) here for us to make it thru this Big ass ball of Bull shit that WE are ALL in.
This is how much WE ALL care about each other on here. even if we never meet we do care…
DO YOU HEAR “US” LCC:!!!!!!!!
PS: never give up the fight… never.
I’m with you a 1000%, red ant. NONE OF US CAN AFFORD TO GIVE UP! NOT NOW! NOT EVER! Especially not in these trying times. We will ALL be tested in some form or manner in the coming days and years. We must continue to keep fighting no matter the cost. It’s been said that God will never give us more than we can handle although it may seem like it at times. We must stay the course and never lose hope. The candle of hope must continue to burn no matter what. Take solace in what Winston Churchill said during WWII. Part of his speech to parliament; paraphrased and edited.
We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight wherever we’re needed. We shall fight on the seas and oceans. We shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air. We shall defend our homes and loved ones, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches. We shall fight on the landing grounds. We shall fight in the fields and in the streets. We shall fight in the hills. We will never surrender. And even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island of democracy or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our holdings beyond the seas; armed and guarded by our combined fleets, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.
Too wordy or trigger words? Some responsibility lies with the writer. Frustrating I know. Seems you have fans.
Damn straight he does, Meadowlark. He’s a very smart person. He always has something valuable to contribute.
LCC:
Chuck… please don’t go!????
We all look forward to hearing your thoughts on various subjects, and I and a lot of other people have all learned so much from you.
Don’t let a stupid machine get the better of you, please!
LCC – Technical difficulties are just that technical difficulties. Its not the end of the world! “To err is human,” to really screw up requires a computer, and “to forgive is divine.”
I HAVE to say something, CC. I can’t let this one go. My slight OCD comes out. “Liens”, dear, not leans. We’re not talking about lean-to’s. I did know what you meant though. 🙂
Hey LCC we need your level head here. I know that’s frustrating. Happens to me here and other places too but we need to hang in together.
Once worked for a company who couldn’t wait to roll out new tech! They had us use a new program to file our expense reports electronically.. This is years ago folks. Anyway, to make a long story short, none of the reports processed correctly and nobody had copies to prove they filed their reports. Copies were said to defeat the brilliance of the new electronic expense reporting system! They were hung up in electronic never land! To which credit card companies came after employees with outstanding charges with a vengeance threatening to put leans on their homes even though they processed the paperwork. On top of that, employees were also not reimbursed for their expenses. It piled up for months until a fix was found! I know just how terrible it is to lose work on a computer system!
Hi, LCC
I am very sorry to hear that. You are one of the most important contributors and I would really hate to see you leave our small community because of some software glitch.
I’ve known of this issue, but haven’t found the cause of it. I’ve posted hundreds of different comments to test it, but none was blocked. I will make some new tests this week to find a solution for it. But if I don’t, at the end of this week, I will switch back to the old website. Does this sound fair?
The only reason I wanted to change the website in the first place is to offer you guys a better experience, and to update the software that was outdated. But since you’ve made it clear that it’s not better, I will stick to the promise I made above and switch to the old version in case I don’t find a solution for this by the end of the week.
Thank you so much!
Claude
LLC, are you sure it’s the website. Computers will test the patience of a Saint. My wife has more than once lost an entire days work even though it is supposed to be backed up on the employers system.
A major fault of the entire web is they always are changing things. Those changes always have cliches that then need fixing.
As we get older it is harder to adapt to these damn changes too.
Please hang in their LLC. This site depends on you…Literally and Claude knows that.
Claude:
Your site isn’t half as bad as some I’ve been on, but I do wish you’d get back the edit feature for fixing typos.?
I hope you hang around, Chuck. You are one of a handful of posters across the prepper community that I trust, even when I do not agree with you. Which is not very often.
I too have lost posts due to site software problems as well as my tendency to hit the wrong key at the wrong time. Even without seeing the post in question, I do not believe the site owners would trash it intentionally. Even if it was an AI editor/moderator, those things do not live up to their hype. They make more mistakes than the developers will ever admit to them making. Just look at auto-correct, auto-word choice, and similar ‘great features’ on the net and cell system. It is embarrassing sometimes what they wind up saying that I did not say at all.
Hang around, please. You are not just helpful, you are needed.
Just my opinion.
left coast chuck it happens. Stick around so we can argue and discuss 🙂
I have another site I visit often that also tends to “lose” my larger posts. Annoying but then my second reply is far better edited. Oh did I SAY that… :-O!!
Stick around buddy. A lot of folks LOOK for your posts here, I know I do.
LCC, I really do need you. I need your calm, soothing, tone that I have decided you sound like. You are the guy I look too when I read an article on one of those other sights and I say, “Oh crud, this could be it”. Let me go see what Chuck has to say about it. Of course you and your fans on this site have become my support group. You all don’t know it, but I use your words and insight as group therapy. I am sick up to here (my hand is held up really high) with the nation, my fellow citizens, and especially the elected.
At the end of the day my husband, who is my second rock and foundation (our Almighty Father is my first rock and salvation), sit in bed and I read him articles from this site and all of your thoughts. I wish we were all in a prepper group together. The groups we have joined in our area are really camping groups. They all have enough alcohol to last the four day camping trip.
Our best friend’s wife has decided that when the four of us are together, we talk way too much about prepping and guns. Therefore her husband is no longer allowed to hang out with us (I know, he could if he really wanted to). He has joined us at the range the last few weeks in a row and he did not tell the wife. His friendship was a big part of our lives. Now it is not. My husband and I are both upset. The best friend and I have been friends since we were 11.
I was able to get some overpriced .300 Win Mag online yesterday. I have a 1200 yard competition coming up so I needed heavier bullets. I have been plinking with 150 grain, but I can only get the groups I need to compete at up to 700 yards. I had $250 in my ammo budget and after a great deal of research, I was able to find 100 rounds of 185 grain match-grade. I spent $258.46 including tax and shipping. If I can finish second or third, I will win that money back. I am think though, and I have not told my husband this, that when we get to the competition, my torn tendon will be in too much pain to compete. Then my husband will compete and he has a way better chance at first place. Friday he was hitting a 24″ plate at 500 yards. Open sight with a Mosin M1891.
See that. I just had a free therapy session. If we still have time, I have a LOT more to say. No, I am joking. I really don’t think I would ever go to a therapist.
Thanks for the outline. I now realize I rate about 3.5. Obviously still need to do some work. Again thanks for the assessment.
I have to post this comment here because this page is the latest from Claude. I need this to get out NOW! Unfortunately it’s quite long and a little off topic but I think it’s important enough that it needs to be posted. For whatever reason a lot of Hopi prophesy information is also coming my way all at once. Maybe there is a greater intelligence at work here. I’m open to the possibility.
A remarkable and yet concerning development in the banking sector is signaling the financial system is in big trouble. Severe imbalances between the volume of loans and deposits in all four of the biggest US banks are indicating that the overflow of liquidity issued and pumped into the system by the Federal Reserve over the past 12 months is triggering operational problems for banks and setting the economy up for failure. The loan-to-deposit ratio is a measure of how much money printed by the central bank enters the bank system and how much money is created by private entities. The first being responsible for bad inflation – higher prices for assets and goods, lower growth – and the second by good inflation – boosting economic growth with real money.
The largest US bank, JPMorgan, just released its latest earnings report in which it reported that in the second quarter its total deposits went up by a staggering 23% year-over-year, to $2.3 trillion. On the other hand, the total amount of loans issued by the bank remained flat, at $1.04 trillion. This means that more printed money is making into the financial system than real money is getting out and going into circulation across the economy. Moreover, the report highlighted that this is the second time in history that in the first quarter, JPMorgan recorded 100% more deposits than loans. In other words, the ratio of loans to deposits is now 50%. The last time such sharp imbalances between the volume of loans and deposits occurred was just before the Lehman crisis, so this is a very alarming situation financial analysts have been closely watching.
However, for Bank of America, this epic divergence is even worse: Deposits hit a new all-time high of $1.91 trillion, despite the fact that the bank’s loans have continuously shrunk at a very alarming, deleveraging pace and are now sitting at $927 billion, roughly $100 billion below their level just before the Lehman crisis. That is to say, Bank of America recorded zero loan growth for the past 12 years, while the bank’s deposits have doubled. The same has happened to Citigroup and even Wells Fargo. Simply put, for the past 12 years, only fiat money was put into circulation.
There are two major implications resultant from the collapsing loan-to-deposit ratio. The first is that this ratio is a closely watched metric that measures how much lending a bank is doing when compared to its capacity to lend. The second is actually the most fundamental question in modern fractional reserve banking: “what comes first, loans or deposits”? Put in another way, do private, commercial banks create the money in circulation by first lending it out, or is the central bank the only one responsible for money creation? Deposits are coming first because the money supply has exponentially grown in the past year, and everyone knew that, eventually, this money would flood financial markets while also pushing the price of assets, goods, and services sky-high. For evidence, just note the recent explosion in consumer prices that readjusted inflation expectations have risen to the highest in 13 years. In essence, the recent loan and deposit data means that the conventional process of deposit creation via loans is terminally broken.
In conclusion, banks won’t have another alternative but to issue a massive amount of loans to offset the massive amount of liquidity injected by the Fed into the financial system. More importantly, once banks release this huge lending effort the inflation provoked by the Fed’s policies will show its worse effects. Another critical reason why this data is so relevant is that the continued loan destruction is a sign of looming deflation, meaning that prices will stay up while growth will remain flat, so the inflation fueled by the Fed won’t serve its purpose of actually stimulating the economy. But even though everyone has been warning the Fed about the flaws of the current policies, it is very likely that once a deflationary period starts to occur, the government will launch another major reflationary mega stimulus, which will also fail to stimulate benign inflation and keep fueling asset and price bubbles across the financial markets and the economy for another 3 to 6 months, in case they haven’t already burst.
Needless to say, this helicopter money will and once again fail to create benign economic inflation, and every additional liquidity injection will only push us one step closer to uncontrolled asset price hyperinflation as soon as those trillions in newly created printed dollars start flowing right back into the financial market again. We’re on the verge of a new era of painful price hikes and a stagnant economy, and we will be incredibly lucky if a catastrophic financial crisis doesn’t happen in that process.
this is a very well-thought-out comment, Armin. I too fear that deflation and not inflation will be the problem we will soon face. If you look at all the important crises of our past they were all deflationary and not inflationary in nature.
Couple this together with the current global shipping crisis. One more and then I’m done for today. A disaster just waiting to happen. No apologies.
The explosion in consumer demand over the past year and a half was the trigger for the ongoing global shipping crisis. There was some hope that the high demand for goods would ease this year, but up until now, it has stayed at record highs. On the other hand, wait times have never been longer and the logistical nightmare faced by global supply chains seems to have no clear end in sight. Experts are now predicting that it will take at least another year before the shipping crisis starts to stabilize. However, the uncontrolled spread of the new virus variant and the slower pace of staff vaccination may jeopardize that forecast. Unfortunately, this means also the worst is yet to come. Supply chains are about to face many more disruptions and consumers will have to deal with extensive shortages from now on. (Stock up on TP while you can)
The backlog at ports is a problem that has only been intensified since March 2020, compounded by a challenge that definitely won’t be solved in the next five to six months; increasingly large container ships, and ports that haven’t been remodeled to accommodate the gigantic vessels. In fact, the Port of Los Angeles just recorded its busiest month in history, with over 1 million shipping containers waiting to get unloaded. To make matters worse, a shortage of port workers and the unprecedented volume of cargo are overwhelming longshoremen and seafarers who are having to work for months beyond their contracted lines.
At this point, the crew change is severely worsening, with thousands of workers trapped at sea for over a year. “I’ve seen grown men cry,” revealed Captain Tejinder Singh, who hasn’t set foot on dry land in almost a year and isn’t even sure when he’ll finally go home. “We are forgotten and taken for granted,” he said in an interview with Reuters. At least one hundred thousand workers are stranded at sea as the Delta variant rapidly spreads onshore. The Maritime Labour Convention highlighted that the maximum continuous period a seafarer should serve on board a vessel without leave is 11 months, but many thousands of crew have now been at sea for over 16 months. “The situation is going from bad to worse. We need more than lip service from governments We need concrete action that allow crew changes to be carried out in a safe manner,” stressed Stephen Cotton, general secretary, International Transport Workers’ Federation.
With virus outbreaks occurring on ships and endangering the lives of marine workers, further disruptions on trade are expected, according to a new Bloomberg report. On the flip side, another 100,000 are stuck on shore, unable to board the ships they need to earn a living on. Can you even imagine the nightmare of being stuck at sea for over a year? According to the United Nations, the situation is quickly evolving into a major humanitarian crisis. Given that only 2.5% of seafarers have been vaccinated, the vast majority of them are not allowed to go back home.
An imminent labor crunch could halt global shipping indefinitely and threaten the operations of global supply chains for months. Keeping in mind that the global economy is heavily dependent on the world’s almost two million seafarers who operate the global fleet of merchant ships, which transport around 90% of the world’s trade, the aggravation of this crisis also poses a major threat to the US supply chains. We are extremely reliant on exports to keep our economy up and running. Everything — from oil to iron, to food and electronics — either comes from or is processed overseas. According to Insider’s Rachel Premack, this also means that American consumers should brace for yet higher prices and shortages of many products.(stock up on TP)
As chaos sweeps across global supply chains, we might be headed to a holiday season of empty shelves yet again. Right now, the international shipping crisis is deepening the financial pain faced by our producers as U.S. agricultural exports are seeing their shipping times increase dramatically. The imbalances between supply and demand are only intensifying global supply chain woes. And this crisis will only truly ebb when demand does. “The import level we’ve seen in the past year is astronomical and not something that our infrastructure can handle,” as Premack laid out. This is a tumultuous and unprecedented time, and we should all start getting prepared for the imminent chaos while we still can because there are serious threats emerging on the horizon.
Armin:
To which Hopi prophecies are you referring? I’ve heard of the Blue Star Kachina prophecy, but that seems to be referring to the return of Christ, or whoever the Blue Star entity is.
Thanks.
Ok. Here we go, Miss Kitty. I don’t know how I ran across the Hopi prophecy because at the time I was looking at u2b videos about the deteriorating financial conditions in the US. It’s also starting to happen in other parts of the world. It’s starting to worry me. So that the reason for that long post about the financial landscape in the US. Grandfather Red Crow. I watched this video open-mouthed. Had NO idea the wisdom that the native people’s had. Maybe red IS much more than he seems. My ideas about so many things are starting to change. Apparently I’m a slow learner. LOL! And I don’t have a lot of time left.
Here’s the link.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4DCFvaK7LA Let me know what you think. I’d be interested in your feedback. All the very best. Stay safe in these trying times. Must be great to be in the land where the cod fly and the seagulls swim. LOL!
You may also find this interesting, Miss Kitty. It sort of goes along with what some of the ancient teachings say. That the earth continuously goes through four cycles. They’re called yugas. The first is the longest and the most spiritual. The second a bit shorter and more materialistic. The third even shorter and more materialistic. The fourth, which we’re currently in, the shortest and most materialistic and the most dangerous. Also sort of goes along with what the bible says. Something like, if the days were not shortened then no one would survive. Maybe it is all about love, Kit. True love not lust. I’m starting to hear this from multiple sources. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn65fJp6m8A
Holy mackerel, Miss Kitty. This is starting to freak me out. For whatever reason I’m being guided to some mind blowing videos. This one was uploaded July 17th of this year. Maybe it’s time for this info to come out. I think you can understand it if you have the courage to watch it.

Not sure if it is relevant to this article, but since it did come up already, I kind of wanted to reply to the question about Hopi Prophesies.
Several years ago, 2015 I believe it was, my family held a family reunion at the Grand Canyon. One of my nieces and her friend had become acquainted with an elder of the Hopi tribe.
He graciously agreed to give some of my family a private tour of some of the Hopi lands, as well as some other things related to the Hopi tribe in the area. The start of the tour was at one of the very first settlements, for lack of a better word, that the Hopi created after their return to the surface of the earth at the beginning of the current cycle of their existence.
We progressed, stopping at each succeeding spot that the tribe had stopped and settled for a while preparing for the next move. This was absolutely fascinating I tell you. Then things became even more fascinating. We were at one of the settlements, which, I think it was in the 50s, that the government, not sure if it was state or federal, decided a road was needed in the area.
They simply created the road, with no regard at all of the locals. The dozers arrived (after the people were told it would happen I think, though I am not sure) and simply cut through the settlement. I cannot say for sure that it was right through the middle, but it had to be close. Just bulldozed anything in the way down, and pushed it to one side of the other of the road.
Well, we were standing there on one of the higher spots just before the road went down the hill, listening to the Hopi Elder describe the situation, when my oldest brother, one of the four of us on the tour, asked the elder if some blasting for mining was scheduled.
The elder looked surprised and replied in the negative and asked why my brother asked. Terral, my brother, proceeded to point to a cloud of dust off in the distance. We had all heard the sounds, but they were faint and only Terral thought anything about them.
However, the Elder looked over and we saw the strangest look come over his face. And he paled significantly as he brought out his phone and took several pictures of the cloud of dust in the distance, which was beginning to dissipate in the breeze, as well as falling back to earth.
The elder looked over at us, hesitated a moment, and then said, “I am not supposed to mention anything like this to anyone outside the tribe, the Council of Elders, actually, but that bluff coming down on its own is a confirming factor in a very ancient Hopi prophecy. One that came about when this settlement was first established.
That when that bluff comes down, it will signify that the end times are beginning and that the Hopi people will need to prepare themselves for the next stage of their existence.”
He was in his own truck and when he headed for it, very quickly, he added over his shoulder, “I have to get to the Elders and call a meeting. They need to know about this immediately. I am sorry to cut the tour short, but I must go.” And he did. Fast.
We, my brother, niece, her friend, and I, along with the Elder, had just witnessed the fulfillment of an ancient Hopi prophecy. And it simply confirmed what I had been thinking for a long time. That we were/are entering a time where everything will change. The end times is one term for it. Armageddon another, Apocalypse yet another. (Personally, it is the Dark Times, a term I use in a book I wrote.) Anyway, I could feel the significance from my feet to the top of my head.
Like some other things that have happened to me, one of which could be right out of the second video Armim posted, it was an absolute epiphany that my beliefs were being confirmed, and that I better speed up my preps as much as I can.
I had never doubted we were approaching something like what we are now seeing, which is just more evidence of what is coming, but ever since then there has not been a single doubt in my mind.
I am only 3/16 tribal American, a mix of several tribes, with enough Irish blood to be fey and the equivalent in tribal terms, with the ability to sense and even see and hear things that others do not.
It is coming. I urge anyone that wants to make it through to be able to help with the recovery to get ready now.
This is more than just my opinion, the way I usually post replies like this. This is all fact, and straight from my heart.
I hope you get a chance to watch the videos, Miss Kitty. The first one is very recent. The second one was uploaded about a year ago. Had no idea the native peoples held such wisdom. Maybe the situation is more die than we think and it’s time for this info to come out. I know you’re quite religious, Miss Kitty, and the third video shouldn’t conflict with your beliefs. It may actually enhance your understanding. The title is the real message of Jesus. Found this one quite mind-blowing and eye opening. I’ve always been interested in the spiritual life and very early on was what I would consider a true seeker. Got my hand on every book that I could and learned everything I could about the spiritual life. It was almost an obsession. There are so many things I know. Some of the most important are about chakras and the role they play as connections between the physical and the etheric. I’m a Reiki healer so I also know about energy work. Between my thirties and fifties life happened and I kind of lost my way. Things seem to be coming around full circle for me know. I’m going back to my roots. There are a lot of videos coming my way that deal with what I’m interested in. And they are very recent videos. Maybe so much coming out right now because humanity needs it. Ran across a youtube site run by naturalvitafamily and the information she’s coming out with is so amazing. Resonates so strongly with me and reinforces what I already know. I really think she speaks truth.
Just remember the enemy reads these articles as well. So, who is the enemy? Good question. Not all survivalists (“Preppers” if yer a soccer mom) are good, and not all “other side” are bad, either. Real hard to speak my piece here because “the other side” is here as well, and Claude doesn’t need any (or) more difficulty from them.
Of course they read these articles too, CK. That’s a given. They may even routinely monitor sites like this. Just because they do doesn’t mean we should be afraid to speak our minds. Quite the opposite. We should even be bolder. We should let those sons of a bitches know, in no uncertain terms, that if they try anything that there’s going to be a determined resistance against them. That may give them some pause. Some. If we just roll over and surrender that makes them bolder. Just remember they need us much more than we need them. They can go *uck themselves. Claude’s a big boy. He knew what he was getting into. And what scares the shit out of them is if we mount an organized resistance against them. There are many, many more of us than there are of them. I think the quote is that the Japanese were afraid to invade America because “behind every blade of grass there is an American with a gun”. I don’t agree with concealed carry but you guys have it now and you’re going to have to live with it. I don’t think it’s a sign of a healthy society. But most of you have military training and at least one long gun. We need compulsory military service up here in Canada. It may give some of the young people a backbone. I like the Swiss model the best. Both genders have to go into the military after they finish school for 1 or 2 years. I think it’s 2 but not sure. Once they finish their military service it’s MANDATORY for every Swiss household to have at least one long gun in the house. And they’re trained in the proper use of that gun. The crooks know this. There’s very little crime in Switzerland.
I have to say that the definition of “concealed carry” is more than those who intentionally hide a firearm from view. It also includes if your weapon is not in plain view. Let me clarify.
If I have a handgun and want to go to a shooting range for target practice, I’d naturally have to take my gun and ammo. If I’m following a basic safety protocol, i’d also have some eye and ear protection.
We’ll say I’m in a state where I need a permit to carry concealed, and I don’t have that permit. I am a lawful citizen, so my only other option is open carry. On my way to the shooting range, when I’m about halfway, I realize I have forgotten my water bottle at home. So I stop at a grocery store on the way to get some bottled water. If I don’t have the conceal carry permit, then I need to leave the gun in plain view in my car while I go into the store, OR I can wear my holster with my gun in it and walk into the store. The gun must be visible to all. If it starts to rain and I put a raincoat on to keep from getting wet, I have just violated the open carry. I am now considered carrying concealed, even if the raincoat is not zipped shut and you can easily see the holster and gun from a front view.
I talked with our local police chief about this, saying that I wouldn’t want to walk into the store carrying the gun because that can send a message I don’t want to say. I’m not there to rob the place or draw attention to myself; I simply forgot to bring along my water bottle. Otoh, leaving a gun on the front seat in plain view so I don’t violate the open carry which without the concealed carry permit is what I MUST do if I don’t want to have the gun on my person in plain view at the store isn’t a good practice imo because I think it would tempt some dipsticks to break into my car and take the gun. For which I am responsible. And who wouldn’t throw on a raincoat if it started to rain, especially if they’d rather keep the gun dry?
Clearly, the answer is, “Don’t forget the water bottle at home,” or “Return home to get the water bottle.”
At this point it’s moot because my state no longer requires a permit for concealed carry. But in other states where permits are required, it’s still an issue.
The Chief agreed with me on all counts and told me if I didn’t have the cc permit (when it was required), I was technically also in violation if I purchased a gun and walked out of the gun store with my unloaded gun in a bag. Ditto if the gun were in its own little case, which some hand guns have.
Granted, there are those with nefarious purposes who don’t care if they have a permit or if they are not in compliance. But sometimes, it’s as simple as you don’t want to attract attention or upset someone by carrying a piece inside, or it’s chilly outside, and you absentmindedly don a sweater at the last minute.
I didn’t realize all that until I was talking with the Chief about it. I found the conversation enlightening.
@M Thank you for clarifying what concealed carry actually means. Has helped me to better understand it. But what I don’t understand, M, is why so many Americans feel the need to walk around armed with a handgun. What are you guys arming yourselves against? Is there that much crime in America? So many terrorists walking around? What’s the deal with so many people being legally armed in public. I’m asking a serious question, M. I really want to know.
I’m wondering if the “others” might have been the source of some of the technical issues earlier today.?hmmmm.
No miss kitty. It was obviously multi-dimensional shape-shifting aliens. 😉
Regarding the “ enemy”:
„For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
Ephesians 6:12-20 NKJV
But I’m a Prepper too:-)
Greetings from Hokkaido, Japan
Praise GOD in the highest. Hallelujah
Hello from Texas in America.
I’m a prepper too…
I’m a prepper but that is the best preparation there is.
Amen, Clergylady.
Obviously you will draw strength from your faith but will it help you when you haven’t had any food for 3 weeks?
I have1, 2, 3, and probably 4 covered. Hope I have enough gumption to cover 5. If not I have a spot in a family plot here waiting if I go by way of the grave. If we get to #5 it may not even matter if I get burried. Still, I keep aiming to get through. I keep encouraging friends to be ready. Some are getting the idea.
Friend on a reservation was under the harshest lockdown in the US. Several months no one was allowed out or into her home area. Some ministries sent food to the area chapter houses. A little got to her but not much. They survived on what they had on hand. I’d given her a 20 lb bag of rice and a 20 lb bag of beans plus a 5 gal bucket of canned meats, fruits, and vegetables. The used it all. But she now knows she needs to be better supplied to survive another lockdown. Especially if ministries aren’t able to deliver food to the area.
I just gave her a 55 gallon plastic food grade barrel for water. I may give her a 55 gallon lined metal barrel that help food grade oil. It would hold water with that plastic lining. I have containers for garden and critters, 22 gallons in the kitchen and a manual winch for the second well.
I enlarged the garden but it hasn’t been a spectacular success. I am canning our wild amaranth and other things as they are available. This evening I canned 3 pints of amaranth with diced pork, 3 quarts and 1 pint of spiced pickled apple slices. A few days ago I canned 8 pints and 7 quarts of pork and vegetable soup. I just keep adding what I can. It’s what I can do.
Do I have what I’d like? No! But I just keep steadily doing what I can.
We lived on stored food when I was so sick last spring with covid. It gave me a better idea what it takes. I was well prepared for that time. I grew up always preparing to live from garden harvest to the next harvest. I’ll be drying amaranth and onions on screens. I have 30, 1 gal glass pickle jars for storing things. I dry a lot of herbs also. When I have extra summer squash, tomatoes, peppers- hot or sweet, onions, fruits, greens, winter squash, potatoes and more.. I dry it or can it.
I have gotten a treadle sewing machine working. I still need to finish repairing the wood part of the cabinet. I’m add ing shelves around the house but had to move a lot of things out of the hallway. Husbands walker needs more room to get through, so rearranging the home. Small homes never have enough storage space.
I am building, hey great grandma is slow, a chicken pen, coop, duck house, and moving the rabbits so all will be closer to the home for my convenience. Then 2 storage rooms, one for 50 lb bags of grain. The other for dried seasonings and edibles. Freezing won’t hurt them. I’m recycling an old mobile home.
I prepare for winter every year here, and we have a short growing season, do like you, Clergylady, I try to put by enough until next growing season.
I don’t think any of us is truly prepared for #5. I’d venture to guess mist if us have no idea how much mental toughness it will take, and how much effort will go into maintaining that toughness and tenacity.
If we can be a good, solid 4, that will lay the groundwork for #5.
I’d guess on the 1-5 scale presented, I’m above a 3 but I wouldn’t say I’m a solid 4. In some ways, yes, since our winters can be pretty harsh, and I have lived through hurricanes and ice storms. I’ve also had to weather a few bad recessions. I learned to make do and therewith be content as the Scripture says. But I see some skill sets within myself that are lacking and am working on those. I want to make the most of what I have been given and be the best steward I can be.
If #5 ever does happen it will be a bugger. Don’t think anyone can be adequately prepared for that one as it could last for years. Apparently there has been more than one extinction level event in our past and at least one reduced our number down to 10,000 individuals or less. If true then in a very real sense we’re all related to each other, brother. 😉

I appreciate that very much, Mfprepper. I can’t take the credit for all of it. I apologize for being completely off topic here but I thought it was important enough to include on this page. To me it shows that the pace of the economic collapse is increasing and you all need to do whatever you think necessary to safeguard your money. If you can still take as much money out of your accounts as you can try and do so. I did it in June and still had to jump through a bunch of hoops to withdraw my money. Leave enough in there to pay your bills and a little extra for emergencies. If you’re thinking precious metals to help safeguard your money you may want to look at silver as at this point it’s still undervalued. Apparently most of the major US banks like JP Morgan, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, etc. have cancelled personal lines of credit and they say it’s because the lending environment is too risky. And now the UK banks are also starting to close down customer accounts. Along with the escalating global shipping crisis this does not bode well for our collective futures. It looks like things are going to start heating up very quickly from here on in. Be prepared to act quickly.
Some really good points about concealed carry, M. It’s not the responsible gun owners I’m worried about. If people can’t carry handguns they start to use other things as weapons. Up here crimes using knives seem to be on the increase. Look at how creative people can be when they have to improvise with what they had. The Chinese were very creative at creating some very impressive weapons out of ordinary materials they had on hand. Basically modified farm tools. Even someone trying to take your head off with a sickle would hurt. You don’t NECESSARILY need guns to protect yourself although the person with the better weapon usually wins. Eventually guns run out of bullets. Then they’re a club. They had some really nasty things during the middle ages until they got hold of gunpowder. Things like an old battle axe ;), flails, mace, morning star. Wouldn’t want to get smacked in the head with a morning star. All kinds of swords. Spears and pole arms. Of course bows and crossbows. And I know what you’re going to say. For these weapons to be effective we need to constantly train with them. Never too late to start. Begin with something as simple as a good quarter staff. In the right hands even a quarter staff can be a deadly weapon.
Hi Armin.
About carrying a sidearm… I have automobile insurance JUST in CASE. I have home owners insurance JUST in CASE. I have medical insurance JUST in CASE. I carry a firearm… You prbably get the point.
Hi, Tee. Thank you for that. I do understand the concept of “just in case”. I have the utmost respect for the insurance industry. About on the same level as getting an advanced case of ebola. I am really trying to understand Americans. The more I deal with you the more I realize just what an amazing people you are. Hopefully I’m not being too familiar and crossing some kind of line. If I’ve done that with any of you please let me know. I’m not always aware of it. We’re not THAT much different but from what I understand, now, Americans think our political system, basically a socialist democracy, is an oxymoron and a joke. I can live with that. It is what it is and I can’t change the system. There are pros and cons. But the concept of carrying a handgun in public is foreign and unthinkable to me. Same as Britain. Only the criminals are allowed to have hand guns. The laws dealing with hand guns are VERY stringent here. Although I believe up here in Canada there are probably a large number of people carrying an edged weapon. I’ve been toying with the idea myself and putting it in a proper sheath. Maybe a short sword. 😉 Crocodile Dundee; That’s not a knife. THIS is a knife! I’m sorry to be so pedantic, Tee, but I really want to understand. I can see having a handgun on the nightstand beside you just in case someone tries to break into your house. But in public what kind of “just in case” situation are you preparing for just walking around outside. If you see a bank robbery in progress with perhaps four or five armed suspects are you going to jump in and try to stop it? If you see a gas station being robbed with even just two armed subjects, one of them with a shotgun and the other with an assault rifle, are you going to intervene? If someone pulls a gun on you in public and intends to rob you that negates the effectiveness of your own weapon. If someone wants to get into your face either outside or in a bar are you going to pull your gun on them? One of the few situations that I can see your handgun being useful is if a very angry person comes at you with a weapon other than a gun. Like a crowbar. Hopefully you’ll be able to wound them and stop them that way without being forced to kill them. In the other examples above once guns are drawn in the heat of the moment there is always the possibility of innocent bystanders being injured or killed. I’m not trying to be a jerk here, Tee. I really want to understand. In what situations walking around in public is your hand gun going to be useful. PLs help me out here.
Armin, agreed. You can make anything into a weapon. When you mentioned “concealed carry,” though, I heard you saying a lot of what I said at one point until that talk with the Chief.
I typically post here a Mbl, but the website was wonky, and it didn’t allow me to type in my name. I got the one letter, but couldn’t see it.
Weapons come in a various forms. The ability and desire to use them comes with training and resolve. The training will help the resolve go farther, the resolve can help what one lacks in training.
My family is at a Level 3.75. We’re working on building our Cash Reserve to be more than just adequate. Getting the wife her CCW.
I have no idea what leavel im at but I have 6 to 9 weeks food medical and other thing that well make it a do able life for awhile, and here’s what I really think
If you dare unable to keep it for yourself and family then just holding it for some one else, be ready to shoot…
I’m not worried in the least bit about Chuck. He’ll be back. This group is about like toe jam- at first you don’t like it, but after a while it grows on ya to the point that you think you can leave, but you can’t. So he’s here alrighty, just not posting. Oh, wait. Or is this group really like Hotel California? You can always check out but you can never leave? Hmmm. Chuck, help me here, will ya? Thx!
I just got back from food shopping, CK, and was thinking along the same lines. Wish I had thought of that line from “Hotel California”. 😉 Lot of subtext in that song. One of my favourite songs from the Eagles. Chuckles will be back when he wants to be back. He won’t leave us in the lurch. He may not be interested in the subject matter of the article. There’s a lot of articles that come up here that don’t interest me or that don’t apply to me. Chuck is just a bit miffed right now. He’ll get over it and he’ll be back. I’d like to think that this little community here is more like a small family. We may squabble. We may disagree but in the end we still come together for a common purpose. What’s the name of that darn group. I don’t want to start singing that song. WE…..ARE…..FA-MI-LY! LOL!
You mean this, right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMVe_HcyP9Y
Armin:
Sister Sledge.
And you know, CK, if Chuck was serious about what he said and doesn’t come back then that’s ok too. He will be so sorely missed but we have to respect his decision. Maybe he has more important things to do right now. We all know something is going on or is about to happen. We can feel it in our bones. At least I can. Who knows what Chuck’s reasons are but whatever his decision we have to respect that decision and honour the man. But I do hope he comes back at some point. He will when he’s ready. Or not.
Dat be de one brudder, CK. Cool song. Takes me back. Maybe we could make it the site theme song. LOL! Or Chumbawamba, Tubthumping. That could be our war song. 😉 “I get knocked down but I get up again. You’re never going to keep me down”. LOL! Thanks, CK.
Armin:
Ha! That’s us all right…pissing the night away!
Nah Armin, Elton John’s “Yellow Brick Road” or Culture Club’s “Karma Chameleon”.
CK:
Oh, dear…. oh deary dear.
Those are fine songs, but not of the caliber we here deserve.
My votes would be for something really kickass.
Kid Rock’s “Cocky”.
George Thoroughgood’s “Bad To The Bone”, although one could argue his cover of Hank Williams’ “Move It On Over” might be more appropriate.
Z.Z. Top’s “I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide”.
Picture us all walking down a dusty road, the line stretching across from one side to the other, weapons at the ready, heat shimmers and dust slightly blurring the image of our approach. We are ready. We are determined. We stole this scene from some movie that I can’t remember what it was right now, but it’s ours now. We’ve come to chew bubblegum and kick some ass, and we’re all out of bubblegum.
So, what’s our theme?
Sorry, Armin, I love disco but it doesn’t quite work for the mood. Neither does a song like Tubthumping…too light-hearted and kinda goofy. If we’re going to take that route, we should go all in and use “Life Sucks And Then You Die” by the Fools. (It should be on YouTube. If you’ve never heard this song, look it up…it’s hysterical!)
Nah, CK, have to go with Kit here. Those songs are a little too wimpy to cow our enemies. While Goodbye Yellow Brick road is a fine song all on its own (enjoy quite a few songs by John) Karma Chameleon is just a little too gay for me. For our theme we need a song that will strike terror even into the hearts of our most hardened enemies. Something that will freeze their souls. That will make them immediately empty their bowels into their boots and turn and run in the other direction in abject terror.
And I forgot to add this, but funny story…My ex and I and a couple of friends were having a little party and were pretty stoned. A radio station in our area was changing their format and all that weekend they were playing Tubthumping on repeat. I don’t know how long we had it playing before we noticed that it was the same song over and over, but it was a funny and very surreal experience. We left it on the station for about another hour.
If you’re in the right mood, Miss Kitty, that song CAN be quite mesmerizing. All weekend though? Don’t know if I could stand it THAT long. Sounds like a definite “couchlock” situation. Unless you were dancing to it all weekend long? Good song to get you up and moving. I get energized by it too. Now Floyd’s “Echoes”. That’s a whole other story. I could get lost in that for weeks. Floyd is amazing beyond words. It’s not music anymore. It’s a psychedelic experience all on its own. Don’t even need any substances to get high off of that. Although the odd “slip” does enhance the experience. 😉 While I have you here, Miss Kitty, I need to give you a short response to your comments on the “other” page. Haven’t had a chance to do so yet. I was soooo sure I was right. But I shouldn’t have done it the way I did. I disrespected all of you and America. That wasn’t right. And you guys are still talking to me. I’m amazed. That says so much about you and so little about me. I feel that I’m walking in the footsteps of giants. The more I learn about you guys the more amazing you become to me. I’ve come across videos by “patriot nurse”. Now that is one amazing woman! Are all you intelligent American women that strong and that tough? It almost seems like it. Especially the ones on this page. Even CC. 😉 It’s a joke, CC. I love you like a sister. Even though I know quite a bit there’s still so much I don’t know. Especially about American politics. You, red and LCC tried to warn me. I didn’t want to listen. I’m originally northern European from a country that’s known for it’s stubborn people. Wasn’t born in Canada. Came here when I was five. DEFINITELY Canadian now though. Could never go back. Don’t want to. I really hope that you guys are right about MR. T. and I’m wrong. I promise to stay out of American politics from now on. I just make a fool of myself. You may at least be a little right about the “anger” part, Miss Kitty. I now realize that I do have a lot of anger and frustration simmering just below the surface. Maybe even a little fear. It seems to come out at the most inappropriate times. I’m in constant pain. My back is screwed. I’ve already had about a dozen operations. I don’t want any more but I may be forced to get one more back operation. I don’t want to end up a quadriplegic or in a wheel chair. That wouldn’t be life for me anymore. I would end it. I hope you’ll accept my apology in the spirit it was given.
Armin:
Of course, silly! We’re all one big happy dysfunctional family here! Being of 1/4 Irish, 1/4 English, 1/4 French Canadian and 1/4 miscellaneous stock myself, I was brought up in an atmosphere of “energetic debate”. Frequently with myself!
Kidding aside, and speaking for myself, I don’t toss a friend onto the scrap heap because of a disagreement, and certainly not over politics. Good friends and allies are hard enough to find without being cavalier in keeping them only if you agree on everything. Listening to an alternative viewpoint is extremely important, because that’s how you grow and learn.
Here in this chat room, we’re blessed with good people from all walks of life, all view points and beliefs. It’d be boring as hell if we were all marching in lockstep and just an echo chamber of one particular opinion. At least, that’s my opinion, and I think there are others here who would agree with me. On that, anyway… maybe not much else.
Anyway, it could have been a lot worse…we could have been talking about sports, and I really would have had to put a hurt on you if you trashed my teams!?
I am in awe. Kit! LOL! I had no idea. You’re so sweet and polite on this site. Kid Rock’s “Cocky”? Seriously? This is who you are? WOW! You’re a badass. A serious badass. Probably scared your first husband off. LOL! A lot of men are threatened by strong, intelligent, independent women. I don’t think there are a lot of men that could handle you. You’re frickin’ dangerous. Kind of like it. Gets me excited. LOL! I wanna be on YOUR team. I’ll bring the 50 cal. With the extra large bandolier. A combination of hollow point and incendiary rounds. I wanna see my enemies explode. And then we feast on their beating hearts. LOL! I can see the scene in my mind but I don’t know what movie it’s from. Maybe from multiple movies. Something like the expendables? What’s our theme going to be. That’s a good question. H’mm. It should be a song that leaves no doubt as to our intentions. No rap please. Should be something really nasty. It should say to our enemies that we’re here to make you our bitches and we don’t take prisoners. Something like Thunderstruck? Highway to Hell? I did watch that video by the Fools. Almost busted a gut. So many hilarious moments in that video. Hard to pick out one. My wife ran off with a one legged plumber. LOL! Too funny.
Very sweet of you to say that, Kit. Much appreciated. H’mm The Irish for your temper. (Don’t tell me you’re a redhead) The English for your polish. De Quebecois for your intelligence and your creativity. And the other 1/4 random to smoothly mix the others together. The conversation about sports could be an interesting one. I’d trash your teams on purpose just to get a rise out of you. LOL! And pain used judiciously in the right hands turns pain into pleasure. Something to look forward too. LOL! Seriously, though. I am sorry for the way I did it. Won’t happen again. The more that I interact with you guys the more I like you. It really is coming together and starting to feel more like a big, wonderful dysfunctional family. The tone of this website has changed completely. If Chuck ever comes back on here he’ll hardly recognize it and wonder what the hell we’ve been up to in his absence. We’re much more comfortable with each other. Not so stiff and stuffy anymore. Talking more like friends should be talking with each other. Not being afraid to disagree. Not being afraid to have a heated debate in case we put the other person off. But no matter the subjects we discuss as long as we do it with respect and kindness. There’s no need to put others down to stroke our own egos. To earn respect first you have to give it.
Even though you’re addressing LCC, Spike, I don’t think he would mind if I answered in his place. It’s DEFINITELY the website/cloud storage company. I know my own computer inside and out, Spike, and it’s not my machine. I built it myself. So I know what’s in it. Regularly run an anti-virus program. Doesn’t happen anywhere else. And it’s an old machine. Only has a 3770k CPU in it. Only has four cores. Although it FLIES! 🙂 Ancient by today’s standards. In all fairness it may be the company that Claude has partnered with that may be at fault. As far as I know the way that Claude has it set up is that he doesn’t store all this info on his own machine but instead has hired a company, which today they call “cloud storage”. In practical terms a server with gobs of memory that has enough storage (memory) to store multiple customer’s info. If you assign a one terabyte drive to each customer that should be more than enough for their needs. Storage can always be expanded. To be sure that your comment doesn’t get lost in some electronic black hole just highlight your comment once you’re finished typing it. SAVE it. Then post it. If the website swallows it then just re-paste your comment in the comment box and re-post your comment without having to re-type the whole thing over again. Voila! Problem solved. Easy fix. Get into the habit of doing this each time you want to post your comment here and you’ll never lose another comment. I save my comments EACH time BEFORE posting them. If the website swallows my comments, I don’t care. I just re-paste. Re-post. Badda bing. Badda boom! LOL!
Long time prep reader, first time poster. After I read an article whether it is useful to me or not, I always look forward to the community conversations at the end. I’ve learned how to adapt information to fit my needs and fill in the gaps in my preparations. Many thanks to all you terrific folks. Keep up the good work! Oh, and I ‘ll welcome LCC back when he simmers down. A shame not to hear his 2 cents worth.
We do get into some interesting stuff, don’t we Delta gal. And of course we’re always on topic. 😉 Seems to me the most interesting discussions happen when we go off topic. But isn’t that what this platform is for. Pretty well a discussion of anything between like-minded people. Welcome.

You’re welcome?

Carry Me Home by Blues Sarencino. This is a really pretty, country noir song that sounds like something from a classic Western. This can play over the opening credits to “Preppers, The Movie”
Blues Saraceno. That’s a GOOD song. Preppers, the movie would have to be made now. Before SHTF. if you like that one you might like, The Dead South. In Hell I’ll Be in Good Company. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9FzVhw8_bY
Didn’t quite know what to expect from Vaughan. A lot of his stuff I don’t like. Was pleasantly surprised by Crossfire. Good song. Good lyrics. Vaughan’s fingering is always amazing. Some say he’s the premiere guitarist in the world. Something like that is always debatable. And subjective. He’s certainly up there in the top five. Along with Gilmour, the guitarist from Queen (the name escapes me), Slash and a few others.
OK last one, I swear
Stevie Ray Vaughn: Crossfire

I think this is the best of my selections.
Lovin’ all your song titles, BUT I just accidentally hit the Unsubscribe button and now that I just jumped in with you all, now I think I screwed my self…Awk!! I hope I didn’t lose you guys……oh and shout out to Armin; thanks for the welcome wagon. Now to get back to making sure I am not lost in some black hole or worse……
No biggie, DG. If you’ve unsubscribed by accident just re-subscribe. Don’t think it’s difficult. If not sure ask Claude. You probably have a lot to contribute.
Jerry D. Young:
Thanks for your reply. That story sent a chill through me. It reminds me of when New Hampshire’s Old Man In The Mountain came down a few years ago. I remember thinking at that time that it was an ill omen, but I don’t know of any legends or traditions connected to it, Native American or otherwise. It was just a gut feeling.
Regardless of theology or traditions, I think we can all agree that we are about to experience some drastic changes in our lives. Setting our houses in order, whatever that means to you, seems like a good thing to do very soon.
Yup. Yup. Yup, Kit. I have to answer you this way, Jerry, because you don’t have a reply button. There will be signs if we know what to look for. Agree with you that the time is growing short and we need to get serous about our preparations. To add more fuel to the fire just came across an article that said because of the ongoing climate change, the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, which includes the Gulf Stream, has been “disrupted” and could collapse within the next 20 years or so, making parts of NA and Europe MUCH colder. Hurray. Something else to look forward to. Like you mentioned, Kit. Time to get our houses in order. So glad I’ll miss the worst of it. The generation after me is going to have a VERY interesting next 20 years or so. Remember your bumbershoots in ’29 in case Apophis gets too close. LOL!
Armin:
Oh, Armin, Armin, Armin… global warming? Really?
Yeah it’s been hot because we’ve been in a solar maximum. The last couple of years, we’ve been in a solar minimum. It stayed hot because there’s a couple of years’ lag before temperatures on earth are affected. It’s going to get cold because of the solar minimum, and it’s going to get real cold, and stay that way for quite a while. One report I read recently said it could be as long as the next 250 years before the next warming trend.
For some really good information about the solar cycles and their effects on the weather, go to Electroverse.net
Man-made global warming is just another ruse. Please don’t fall for it.
Armin:
I have “In Hell” on my playlist.?
Definitely on the “Preppers, the Movie” soundtrack is AC/DC’s “It’s A Long Way To The Top”.
Another good song in a completely different vein is Canned Heat’s “Goin’ Up The Country”.
First of all: yes, I know we’re horribly off subject. Bear with us guys. Gotta ask you a personal question. Just for my own curiosity. No one else around. 😉 You can obviously decline to answer if it’s none of my business. Won’t take it badly. Were you in the armed forces? You have an interesting play list. This must be an American-centric thing. Up here give me Blue Rodeo anytime. Floyd. Thunderclap Newman. Didn’t know about the Dead South until today. Found them by accident. You certainly have many interesting facets to your personality. Musicwise. I’ve often thought we should have called this planet; “The Onion Planet”. Found a very interesting song watching a guy cut slabs off a log. Will have to look up the name. As for the article, call it what you will but there is definitely something going on with our planet. Northern California burning. Western Europe flooding. Western Canada Sweltering. Our NWT under a heat wave. That place up there is like Siberia. Down here waaaaayyyyyyy too much rain. Staring to piss me off. Really hard to get out into the garden. This isn’t England. No wonder there’s so many bars there. 😉 I’m not judging the article. I’m not falling for anything. Really, Kit Jeez. I may be an old geezer but those last two brain cells are working quite fine. Thankyou! I’m just passing it on.https://ca.news.yahoo.com/study-warns-irreversible-transition-ocean-201451215.html It’s possible. Isn’t it. But that’s what our scientists are saying. At least give them the benefit of the doubt. For know anyways. I’m assuming. you got your info from Elctroverse? Yes? I came across it by accident on youtube. I swear to god they can probably see me. 😉 Russian scientist talking about the great solar minimum.
She had charts and everything. Made a good argument for it. More or less the same timeframe. Hour long video. It was supposed to start in 2020 (around I guess) and last I think she said something like 200 years. I suppose it could last 300 years. No one can predict that accurately. Too many other factors involved. Lag. Shmag. If this is global cooling they can keep it. I should be carrying a can of my own basting oil with me. I wonder if the wonky gulf stream has anything to do with this solar (supposed) minimum cycle? Really great! Or the other way around? That a cooling sun disrupts or even stops the gulf stream? It’d be nice to not get that damn humidity from the Gulf. Or those blanket-blank mosquitos. I like it a little cooler. Ahhh. Cardigan weather. LOL! BRING IT ON!!! I only need plan for the next 20 years.LEH
So, what level is “an out of control demonic government tyrant” bans the “uncooperative” population from grocery stores?
