A fake electronic outlet.
The bottom of a fake plant.
A false bottom drawer.
All these might sound nice to the unexperienced eye, but there’s no way your whole stockpile will ever fit into those small places.
I think you’re just as tired as I am of unrealistic prepping ”hacks” that AI-authored articles call ”game-changing”. So let’s cut the BS: what I’m about to show you in this piece has a real use in your life and I’m certain it will make a difference once disaster strikes.
I didn’t come up with any of these places so I can’t take credit for them.
I have taken all this information from The Special Forces Home Defense Academy, taught by former Green Beret and military expert, Terry Schappert.
Don’t Hide Everything In One Place
Spread your goods all over your home and property. Here’s something that most people forget though: always keep a sacrificial stash to surrender if authorities start tearing your house apart looking for stockpiles. Make sure to act like it’s the end of the world when they take it! That will stop them from looking for more hidden stashes.
Be Mindful Of The Temperature
Speaking strictly of food here, no matter where you decide to hide it, you have to keep in mind that spaces like the roof, attic or under the house are pretty vulnerable to hot/cold cycles and moisture.
That’s why I think one of the best options you got is this next one.
Scatter Your Stockpiles Around Your House
Start with the walls.
FEMA agents aren’t going to wander around your home knocking on every single wall and straining to hear if they’re hollow or not. Find an unfinished basement or attic where the wood framing is exposed. The wood can be used as shelving units. Add a piece of drywall or plywood in front to completely conceal your new hiding place.
Stairs are also a good idea.
The empty space beneath your stairs could be used as a great hiding spot – otherwise, it’s just an area that sits empty and goes to waste. You could also turn your steps into drawers, if you like DIY projects. I think this might just be one of the most ingenious ways you can also create extra storage.
The same goes for floorboards.
This is a great way to use an empty space to store your survival food rations. Just make sure the opening isn’t super obvious, or you can hide it with a heavy object like a couch, table or even a rug.
If you have a large closet, don’t forget about its floor either! This is another place people wouldn’t normally think to look for emergency supplies – making it the perfect place to hide them!
Consider the bath panel too! You just stash your supplies after taking the panel off and then put it back on once you’ve finished.
Building extra shelves under your bed could also work for you. This is where I store my gun stash. It’s retractable and no one pays attention to it thanks to the way I designed it.
Finally, think of any hard-to-access places like a crawl space. They are cool and dark, offering you the perfect conditions to keep your survival food there AND extend its shelf life! Just make sure you keep your food in tightly sealed containers, just like you would if you buried it. This could be your safe-haven storage area.
Bury Your Stockpile
Don’t throw away your old freezer! Instead, bury it to hide some of your supplies. You can easily conceal it with a small pile of firewood and bags of mulch. Just make sure your neighbors aren’t keeping an eye on you as you do that.
But you don’t necessarily need to bury a freezer to hide your stockpile. You can bury a lot of things without actually digging a hole. Set your supplies in the ground and build something similar to a Hugelkultur or raised beds on top of it!
If you are building a greenhouse, workshop, shed or something else, when you start breaking ground, you could also use that space to store long-term preps either in the ground or in the concrete that you are pouring to make the base of that structure. If your supplies don’t require temperature control, you can build a wooden frame for that structure and hide everything there.

If the area you live in has extreme weather conditions, make sure you bury your stockpile in a waterproof container to protect them from flooding or moisture. Cover your supplies with a heavy tarp or a piece of plywood, and no one will be able to dig it up!
Unfortunately, most people make a very common mistake when burying their stockpile. I suggest you watch this video so you avoid ruining it.
Don’t think that not finding anything initially will stop FEMA. They will probably return. And when they find you healthy, well-armed, and well-fed, while everyone else is skin and bones what then?

To tell you the truth, there’s no way you can hide everything – that’s why having a few strategically placed distractions throughout your house is such a good idea, so that they can find them and be done with tearing your home apart. The obvious places I mentioned in the beginning of the article and the ”fake” stockpile will probably convince them that they managed to find everything you had hidden away.
The Special Forces Home Defense Academy is a series of masterclasses that reveal ingenious methods, tactics and secret tricks special operators use to protect their own property. They will come in great need especially in a crisis when law enforcement can’t be depended on anymore.

Hiding your preps is fail-safe. If your ″main″ stockpile is found and taken by FEMA, you still have a backup plan. That’s my motto: a backup for my backups.
Stay vigilant and stay safe!

Thankfully, FEMA under Trump is now too busy trying to justify its own continued existence to be concerned about one’s home canned goods!
Ya city chick , i was thinking along the same line…..I don’t believe thats the job of FEMA….to steal my stash of hard candy in my attic….or any thing as far as i’m concerned.
I think it will get much worse. People are gloating about “end of the democrat party. They are not gone. They have to somewhat moderate themselves when they are in charge. The bad guys south of the border haven’t started fighting back. There was a huge raid about 30 miles from my house. Millions and millions of dollars and people being trafficked. As things get tighter and the money starts to truly be disrupted, there will be pushback. Power grid? Foreign help to bad guys? More disrupted ports? More shortages? Do people really think this is going to go smoothly? FEMA may be on the way out but is your State government above confiscation? California and Oregon already have done it. Texas tried it with Imminent Domain and High Speed rail. That didn’t make it past the first half hearted attempt. I think they were testing the backlash. It was huge. What about the next “plague” that may come our way? Now is not the time to be easing up on being ready. If you have canned goods from two-three years ago now would be the time to start using it and canned fresh stuff.
Several articles recently had good comments. One was communication if there is no cell or internet service. Every one of the suggestions required power or batteries. I didn’t see anything about being tracked by your signal. But unwanted people can. I have suggested sign language several times. In person I have shown people the alphabet and then walked far off to where they needed binoculars. I and we fingerspelled words to each other. They got interested when they saw my grandkids talking to me and we just went and did something. The communication was right in front of and no one but us knew. Now I have been teaching a little here and there. We were recently at a big stadium event and a person was by the concession stand. They asked me in ASL what I wanted. They were looking back and I signed the word nothing.
I also talked about Jesus with a deaf person in a room full of people and only we knew the conversation. That was interesting.
Stay the course. Learn basic ASL and look up TAP CODE.
main thing is having your soul prepared.
I agree. My mother warned me about “the communists” in the 1960s. Now we would say that evil is relentless. She said the “communists would never stop.” Now, I’m older (old) , but still able. The feds tried to mess with us on our islands after hurricane Ian. We have a good group of “locals.” Everyone of us had a side arm or long gun. Our local police/Sheriff were on our side. But, there they were- trying to kick us off when there was nothing wrong with our homes and we all were ok with supplies. No road, but we have boats. This was 2 1/2 years go. FEMA people are wussies, but they brought guys with guns. I’m former LEO. They knew better than to more than stand by. Yes, we must be vigilant. We left city living 25 years ago. We knew it was not a healthy place to be.
People rarely mention small folding solar panels and rechargeable batteries. They would take care of a lot. Could even hook them up to car batteries. With a small inverter, you can run a lot of small devices- or charge them up.
The MAGA battle cry……Rember the Biden years ! I’m just hoping Elon can discover some of that top secret U.F.O. technology and put it to some good use. In the open public sector of the U.S.A. Talk about people freeking out . Russia , China , Iran , really need to start growing up .
Don’t you think the government reads these things and is pretty up to date on all these ideas?
Probably read all of these. Which why low tech is the way to go. You can’t cut North on a compass. You can’t stop communication with flags, mirrors or ASL. Flashlight Morse code. You can’t have grungy water if you know how to filter it. Speaking of which, I built my own water filter. You won’t believe what an aquapure filter looks like after 3 weeks on the job. I pulled it out and scrubbed it with a wire brush and rinse it with the filtered water. Yukadoo on what the filter looked like. Municipal water isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
i agree with the ASL being a valuable tool. i took a course in it when i was at ETSU in commerce,tx. i have forgotten alot of it but a lady in church signs hymns on a regular basis and its gotten me wanting to dig out my ASL manual and relearn it. my grandkids want to learn it too. morse code is definetly a lost art also.
Hi Renee..What is said on this website is nothting new….it’s been said many times else where….Personally i fear nobody in the government…..they better be doing their job…..and following the constitution the best they can ……Because they work for us…the people of the U.S.A. Unfortunately our government has started taking on a life of its own. Know one knows who’s in control . I know only one thing ….My opion only….mind you…i don’t what Democrat’s mandating me how to think .
Come On Lisa.Don’t you have anything better to do than
putting thumbs down on the comments??
It’s not like anyone gives a shit about what you think or
say or even your existence
Are you possibly crying out for attention or maybe anger
you feel from people knowing how bat shit crazy you are.
There is a video on YouTube about using Oxalic acid to clean water filters. Look it up. Some filters ARE cleanable.
