As a seasoned prepper, I understand the importance of safeguarding our stockpile of supplies, especially in times of crisis. While having a well-stocked pantry is essential, it’s equally crucial to keep our provisions hidden from prying eyes.
Today I will share five simple DIY projects that will help you cleverly conceal your stockpile in plain sight. By employing these techniques, you can ensure the security and longevity of your supplies, even during uncertain times. Let’s get started!
Hidden Pantry Shelf
Transform a regular shelf into a hidden storage space behind a decorative façade. Install a sliding mechanism that allows the shelf to move aside, revealing a hidden compartment. Use a bookshelf, picture frame, or wall-mounted mirror to camouflage the storage area.
This discreet solution keeps your supplies out of sight while maintaining easy access for you.
Faux Furniture Storage
Create functional furniture pieces with secret compartments to discreetly store your stockpile.
Construct a coffee table, ottoman, or bedside table with a hidden storage area underneath the surface.
Use hinges, magnets, or false bottoms to conceal the compartment.
This innovative approach combines practicality with stealth, ensuring your supplies remain concealed from prying eyes.
Storing medicine in a hidden drawer within your furniture provides added security and peace of mind. It keeps your medications discreetly concealed, reducing the risk of theft or loss. Moreover, this approach maintains the privacy of your medical needs, ensuring your health information remains confidential.
Having a stockpile of medicine, especially antibiotics, before a crisis is crucial. Without antibiotics, your chances of survival go way down. You can’t generally buy antibiotics over the counter, so here is how to stockpile antibiotics without a prescription.
By planning ahead, you ensure that you have the necessary medications to treat common illnesses, manage chronic conditions, and address unforeseen health issues.
Fake Outlet Safe
Disguise a wall outlet as a safe to keep your valuables and emergency items well-hidden.
Install a fake outlet with a hidden compartment that blends seamlessly into the wall.
This inconspicuous solution allows you to store small items such as cash, essential documents, or even compact survival tools discreetly.

Hollowed Book Safe
Repurpose an old hardcover book into a secret hiding spot within your bookshelf. Hollow out the pages to create a concealed compartment that can store smaller supplies, like medication or emergency cash.
This classic hiding spot is inconspicuous and blends seamlessly with your existing book collection.
Camouflaged Storage Containers
Transform ordinary household items into hidden storage containers. Use false bottoms in flower pots, false panels in wall decorations, or custom-built compartments in furniture to conceal your supplies. These disguised containers keep your stockpile secure and effectively blend into your home decor.
In the uncertain world we live in, being prepared and protecting our stockpile is essential for any dedicated prepper. You might think hiding your stockpile in your basement or in your attic is a good idea. Learn here why you should actually never do that.
By implementing these five easy DIY projects, you can cleverly hide your supplies in plain sight, ensuring their security while maintaining a sense of normalcy in your home.
Remember, it’s crucial to strike a balance between accessibility and concealment, so adapt these ideas to suit your specific needs and living environment.
By taking proactive measures to protect your stockpile, you can rest assured knowing that your supplies are secure, even when hidden in plain sight.

Gangsters already know about these hidden secret places inside your home. Having your preps hidden somewhere underground will be your best bet to keep them safe after the SHTF. Of course, you want to make sure your preps stay dry.
Underground hides that is great for people who have soil that can be dug. A lot of regions have hard pan, rocks and clay soil.
So different methods must be employed for same results to hide our stuff.
Underground hides in snow country and moisture need to use techniques to keep dry goods dry to eliminate moisture build up even in sealed survival food items otherwise mold and mildew happen.
Also the gov. knows as well! They keep track of what is posted on everything especially these types of web sites!!!
LLSS! or Loose lips sink ships, OPSEC, most people can’t keep a secret to save their lives or a family member. Look at how people show their personal information on social media platforms, like tik tok that is kept in the CCP servers offshore from America.
People talk too much on their unsecured smartphones everyday.
In the North East we have to either bury our 25 year food 4 feet deep or put 2 inches of Styrofoam over it to prevent freezing .Tie a monofilament line to your supply to help locate it in years to come. Memories fade.
Make it interesting place a booby trap nearby so they might get a surprise. If they choose not wisely.
utilize permanent landmarks for your buried stashes, everyone has them. the corners of out buildings, rock outcrops in some areas. fence lines. in my area in the deep south purple paint is used to mark property lines and can be used to mark your stashes. a purple fence post down in the woods or a fence line and who are they to know. they won’t dig up 600 acres for a possible can or two of beans. just get it away from your house.
remember, the harder it is to dig down, the harder it is for the bad guys to dig it up.
we have the time, they want to just get in and out as fast as possible and move on before the calvary comes to pick them off before they get to their house.
Since there is no way to effectively hide everything–they are just going to tear everything up looking until they find something anyway–it might be wise to have a number of these obvious hiding places for brigands to find so it will be easier to convince them that you tried but they have found everything. You can bet not finding anything initially is not going to stop them when they look over at you and find you well-fed, healthy and well armed.
Stash items in totes. Tape them up and label the ends “Taxes thru 2023”, “paid invoices”, “Readers Digest”, “photos”. Most people won’t bother looking.
As said in previous postings the clues are given to illegals and other criminals flooding our open Bidenomics border where to look for food.
An open society has at times shown it’s dirty in public, letting adversaries and criminals know what they can take. Makes it harder to find more hidden spaces to keep preps hidden.
Most preppers already know where to hide stuff and can figure that out.
Again with the influx of illegals they don’t need a roadmap to our stuff.
Yeah, so everything suggested in this article would hold about one or two days of food. That’s not going to do anything to hide my 5 gallon buckets, full of dry beans, rice, wheat, etc.
One of the coolest things I ever saw was a retractable kitchen island that rolled back and allowed access to the basement.
Another was on an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie “Commando” where he rolled away the refrigerator and opened the wall behind it retrieving his weapons.
Hollyweed BS movies, the CIA influences the movie scrips in editing for years.
Take the panel off the bath, you can stash quite a lot under and around the bath then put the bath panel back on.
What happens when looters take over your home. Which means all your hidden supplies. Need to think outside the box.
Just want to let you guys know I really appreciate this site. Been a subscriber for years. The site keeps me from getting too stressed out-I also appreciate all the comments. If you stop learning you’re dying. Retiring and getting out of the city and going back to where I came from where everyone is locked and loaded. Thank you all!
If SHTF, someone will have to remain home at all times to guard your property. I recommend you get a cameras that can run off of a solar battery like i have.
I also have bars ready to be drilled over my windows. They await in the garage. This way I don’t look like I live in East Los Angeles, but when the time comes, there will be no going to the store. If anything, get good strong 4×8 plywood and lean it against a wall in your garage that can cover all your windows. Hardening your house is #1, not hiding shit.
We also have battery and solar powered outdoor lights and MOTION SENSORS! Cameras are great and all, but no one can monitor them all day long. Motion sensors are paramount. Harbor fright has cheap ones that work great. But the owl ones an amazon are the best you can get. Because they are laser and work at night in the pitch black. Some camera systems have thermal motion sensors, which would be primo above all. Problem is, they often run on a network. EMP might have knocked all that out. In my EMP DIY trashcans have all that stuff in it.
Get these for all your entry doors. 90% of all home invasions are through doors, not windows. BTW, window films are useless for stopping people getting into windows. all it does is protect them from the glass by keeping the window in one big piece. You have to cover your windows to stop entry there. Get hardened steel security doors on your doors. No one is kicking that in, I promise you that!

BTW, when you put plywood over your windows, think about cutting 3″ wide Cross on each one so you can stick your rifle through and aim up/down or side/side.
Also, pick up at last 100 empty sandbags you can fill later. I have a huge pile of sand hidden waaaay in the back of my yard. If I ever need to fill sandbags to protect my house from people shooting in. Of course I won’t surround my entire house with sand bags. But one room in our house will have them outside 3′ high. That way when we hit the ground, we’ll be bullet proof to almost any caliber. Have the resources to harden your house ready to go and on your premises. There will be no going to the store after SHTF.
I could put sandbags in front of a window but Joe Blow firing .308 could work around to the side of my house and enfilade my butt firing rounds through the brick. Anything with more energy than 556 is going through exterior and interior walls w/o knocking first. Houses are concealment, not cover.
Obviously, this might not work for people depending on how their house is set up. And no defense is perfect. The fact that your shooters would try hard enough to shoot at an angle, says they aren’t just randomly. They are targeting you, know you exact position in your house and don’t mind having someone shoot back at them through the same walls. Only if you have cameras, motion sensors, defenses as i described, you’ll have the upper hand, and they’ll be dead a lot sooner than you.
I saw an episode of Myth Busters that showed how bullets could not go through PAPER.
I tried this out. I made a stack of old mail 3″ thick wrapped with rubber bands. I put a piece of Styrafoam in front of it and fired a 45ACP from 6′ away. The bullet did not go through. It was mangled up in the middle of the bundle. I don’t know how this would work large scale but it was an interesting experiment.
sand bags work great but never-EVER put your firearm “through” a window. it will give others an exact position on you.
keep your room dark and get back as far as possible, wear ear protection as a high power rifle will be deafening inside a small room. work from multiple windows if possible and try not to be pinned down in one area. shoot and scoot if possible if they can’t see you they have no target.
there are many articles and video’s on this subject
One can bury a lot of things without digging a hole.
Set what you want on the ground then build a Hugelkultur on top of it.

The hidden dangers of politicians hiding their agendas to the last second to spring their evil ways on us taxpayers. Politician’s hidden taxes.
The CA gov Newsom signed a bill SB770 into law Sept, 2023 to eliminate Medicare. To run a state healthcare system. 1332 Waiver from Health & Human Services Secretary for a massive healthcare tax on CA residents. AB e400 & 46 to become a single payer CA system.
Disabled California veterans get 15% tax on disabled payroll tax. Vets entitled to Medicare pay additional tax and retired vets would get a disruption in Tricare for Life, active-duty vets and families too. What a mess, many of us retired senior vets can’t afford.
CALMOAA has raised concerns. MOAA, Miramar Chapter, a vet gave me a copy of this March 2024 newsletter, http://www.moaa.org
Thank you for your help.
Obama and Biden still screwing the American veterans last giving comfort to illegals at taxpayer’s expense, shame on them!
For quick security fix for the front door we have a split level with stairs up and down as soon as you walk into the house. I have a truckers load lock ready to prop against the stairs and front door. Someone would have to completely destroy the door to get in
I read an article that said to bury an old deep freeze to hide supplies. It can easily be concealed with a smal pile of firewood or bags of mulch. That wouldn’t work out if the soil is compacted or otherwise hard to dig. Also, if your neighbors want to know why you do what you do.
If you have a lot of junk or stuff in your garage, that could be a good place to hide stuff. If you can’t part with your junk then at least make it useful!
Seriously? How much can you hide in an outlet? NOT MUCH. Neither is a BOOK gong to hide anything, besides, this is also a known place to hide money and jewelry!
Also, storage furniture is going to be know to all who come and they will find what you have stored in a hassock/footstool!
Honestly, with the POSSIBLE exception of a false wall, none of these will deter a motivated search. “They” will be clued in to all of these suggestions…especially if they read any prepper articles!
Back in the day, I encountered folks who had hiddden their valuables inside their bodies. The bad guys who had found them before we did had emptied them by slitting the open. There is really no safe place to stash your stuff. STAND AND FIGHT, the only recourse.
